I used to get pretty good buys on e-Bay but in the past 6 - 9 months it's become much harder and many coins both gold and silver can be purchased from bullion dealers for less.

Ditto
It's indeed odd how some items go for more than retail then two days later less. The trick is to throw everything you're interested in into your watch list, then watch, watch, watch and every now and then a deal comes along.

scrap gold online?

i got a gold 14k bracelet the other day for under spot around $1550USD/oz average, it was in perfect condition, with stones (excluded from calculations), and wife loves it. She doesn't want to give it back. Its stamped and is as good as a coin or bar and you can use it instead of just storing it in your safe.

try going after sterling silver, you can buy gobs of it for spot price... and good pieces. earrings, necklaces, rings, etc. most little pieces in the store for $9.99 have about .50 melt value, so if you're buying wearable jewelry for spot, you're way ahead... especially as spot goes up. usable jewelry can carry a premium on the resale to a buyer of jewelry... after all you don't go to the jewelry shop picking out rings at spot price, their premium is often 50-100% or more.

on the downside, its very hard to stack jewelry.... maybe a silver-piler instead of silver-stacker

i have gotten a few good deals mainly pre-decimal coins for under spot with postage
but the best deal i got was 2 x $10 paper notes for $17 inc postage

I provided pictures of what you actually got :D

The amount of question I got with the ROUNDTOIT was amazing & amusing
But I did p+&%% of 1 Ford guy with the repair kit ,but lots of people found it amusing

Just wondering has anyone got a good deal on ebay before? I know it must be hard for sellers because of Ebay's premiums when selling. Yesterday I thought I hit the jackpot when I thought I scored 10x1 oz Kooks for $50 :P.
This was a "counter offer" to my "$10" bid. Dealer cancelled order saying that he missed a "0". Even after the order was finalised and funds were transferred. I never knew buyers could retract so easily..

Aaah well my money got refunded, would have been an epic deal.. :).

Whats your thoughts ?

For kooks, I bought from gainesville coin on Oct. 4, for $35.27 each (credit card price). But now the price is $39.xx, due to the rise of spot price. And used a $5 coupon got from the internet. so shipping was only $4 after coupon

As for Ebay, yes, sometimes one can get excellent deal, it depends. If you are the only one want the coin.
