I was waiting for a share trade to settle (still hasn't - should be tomorrow) to buy some more gold as it looked to be good buying right up until this rise ... quite a surprise!

Thankfully we already have a decent position in gold.

But in today's market who knows ... stacking long term, so as you say, 3% nice-to-have but big spikes are a bit nerve-wracking when unexpected.
