Hand pours

i try it on a 1oz bar and a little 3 pence coin for you.

That is very decent of you!

Many thanks, I would be very interested to see how it goes.

Edit to Add:

I was thinking maybe a dab of silicone gel would hold the coin in the mold without it moving when the silver is poured on top.

Might make it a bit of a bugger getting it our of the mold and it would need cleaning off afterwards but would stop it moving and stop it getting underneath.

I don't think it would move if you pour it on top of the coin. I suggest you heat the coin a but before pouring the metal on so there is not an explosion from cold touching hot

jislizard- it's not going to work. i tried it with a 1oz pour. the 1st one just left a round negative impression where the coin was. the coin did not adhere and the bar did not pick up any detail from the coin at all. the second attempt.... well the coin dissappeared into the bar. melted in.
silver has a surface tension when molten that is far too high to pick up anything but the heaviest detail. that's why they mint stuff i guess......

Great work you guys, just read the whole thread, i only have 1 Hand Pour its a 1oz Paradise loaf

I love the Maggies Bullion kitkat bar, made by YPS i guess, need to get me one, all the HP's here are awsome

Thank you for taking the time and effort to give it a go.

I can put that idea to rest.

That's pretty cool, smashing the molds up must add a bit to the premiums.

The opportunities to make silver sculptures must be almost limitless with this sort of technology and equipment.

They look nice.

I have handpoured bars for sale

You can see in Maggies Corner in the Site Sponsers forum

This 5oz Tri Angle is the latest I have coming out.

Bullion made for a KING.

The Pagnani Mint adheres to all silver investors. While our designer stock demands a higher premium for its designer quality, finesse and hand crafted qualities, we do also provide world standard sizing bars.

What makes our investment bullion greater than any of the other popular mints is that you will still receive that good quality bullion with a guarantee for purity and weight, but you will also get the branding, a beautiful appearnce and hand craft design.

When stamped with the Pagnani crest, that bullion is getting stamped with a millennia of roman history, a crest of roman nobility and a logo that will one day be known for being the forefront of bullion manufacturing.

Each investment bar has a somewhat Victorian appearance with a patterned face.

I love this thread and just ordered my silver YPS silver! Ordered a few different size pyramids and a custom dog bone - Koa

Very excited to report when everything arrives.

Thought I would fire up the old smelting seeming as the new place has a space for it now. Got this in the mail today so I thought I would test It out seeing as there is a rekindle on this forum for the old hand poured bars

Are they still making spoon molds?

The only ones I can find seem to be from the American Civil War era and are for making pewter spoons, and I generally only find one half of the mold for sale.

If I could start stacking tea spoons it would solve several of my problems in one go.
