Great new bullion series from the Royal MInt: The Queens Beasts

Hi Guys,

I Germany we have been aware of that coin for a while already. That is why I could spent some time with investigation about this new coin series.
Here my short summary: The Lion of England is no. 1 out of ten. All coins are capsuled so no need for an extra purchase:
"Both the silver and the 1 / 4 oz gold coins will be released in a capsule also. I believe that there is no mintage limit on these coins, and unfortunately, at this time I have no further details as to when the next coin will be released.
If you have any further questions, you may be better contacting [email protected] as they would have more detailed information available to assist."

And the release date of the 1/4oz gold coin and 2oz silveer coin will be the week following Easter. All coins are bullion coins and no mintage limit is applying.
I got the most infos about it directly from Royal Mint UK, some be my own investigation.

In USA Wholesaledirectmetals.com in exclusive distributor (but they are selling in large quantities only):

And here the specs: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/2478338

Hope you enjoy the summary. ;)

38.6mm diameter for the 2oz coin, that's gonna be chunky! (edit: same diameter as the 1oz Britannias). Can't wait to get a few in-hand :) That design really pops.

Pricing for the 1oz gold coin seems sharp enough so I hope the silver is affordable too.

Depends what your understanding as affordable for a 2oz bullion coin in capsule is:
Wholesalesdirectmetals.com in USA want to have 44 USD but with minimum quantity of 4,000 coins:
http://thesilverforum.com/topic/5229-1oz-queens-beast-lion/?page=3
while a German dealer (an UK representative of coininvest) asking for about 62,40 Euro (recently about 92 AUD (including local VAT 19% but excluding shipping):
https://www.coininvest.com/de/silbermuenzen/queens-beasts/2-oz-queen-s-beasts-silber-2016/
Whait until beginnig of week after Easter to see what RM is asking for it:

wink

That's definitely not my idea of affordable for any coin, especially an unlimited mintage bullion coin :( USD44 might be OK for singles but I don't have a lazy 176k to throw down for 4000.

I'm erasing the memory of reading those numbers, will wait and see what Aussie retail is.

I am sure that (as in Germany) dealers will import directly from RM to avoid mass quotations as requested from Wholesalsedirectmetals.com
Stay a bit patient an even some local dealers will offer the 2oz silver and the 1/4 gold bullion coin soon. I am confident in that.

so that's about a 50% premium to spot for non-UK buyers ...drops to ~38% if one buys 50 or more coins

Minted to demand, you will never recover the premiums
Somethings are too cool too pass up. I feel I'm the number 1 fan off these. Ordered the2 ounce silver pieces, looking for deals on the 1/4 ounce gold ones?
