Got 2 5oz Silver Panda's in today with an order my Dad and I placed

HI Stackers,

I guess i am more venting and wondering what you guys think about this.

My Dad and I collect a bit and my main interest is Panda's Gold or Silver but most of my collection is Silver Pandas in OPM or Graded by NGC & PCGS.

Today we got an order in from the largest online distributor which had several items including a 2011 5oz Panda and 2012 5oz Panda.

The 2011 which is my sons birth year i was very excited about. My dad let me open the box and i felt like a kid at Christmas morning under the tree ripping opened my first gift. To my dismay when i opened the box the coin comes in it was loose out of the holder. The Panda had a milk spot or two and several small hairline scratches on the back. In addition on the Panda side the Head had a giant rub right in the middle. I would grade this 5oz Panda a MS-62-MS64 based on these issues. I just could not believe they did not package it a bit better.

It looked like someone took the Panda out threw it on the ground and put it back in the holder.

Has this ever happened to anyone with a $420+ coin?

This is one of many reasons I buy graded coins. The large pandas in particular are poorly sealed.

SEND IT BACK!!!!! CALL AND COMPLAIN ,LET THEM PAY POSTAGE BACK ......AND REFUND

A new 5oz Panda is on the Way already and the other one is already on the way back. I don't stand for shitty product when i am a regular customers somewhere especially on the high premium stuff that is new in OPM /Boxed up.

Hopefully the new one they send is flawless as this last one was a joke.

even if the packaging was not opened when we got it i would have still been a bit pissed as the quality was sub par at best.

anyone have any recommendations of where to buy 5oz Pandas.

these are my new favorite size to buy and i want to stack up a few of them before the prices get out of control which seems to have happened already on quite a few of the dates.

Send a PM to Yennus letting him know what you want. He may not be able to get it straight away. But I am pretty sure he will get one that will be good quality and a fair price. You will get great service to match as well.

Yeah i got one of those at the show for $399- in OPM.

I really like when the 5oz Coins come double sealed and i want coins more so than metals so i am going to shoot for some of the earlier years.

When did they stop double sealing the 5oz Pandas? same year as 1oz Pandas in 2005?

I appreciate that Austacker.....i have never purchased off the forums before.

I know Yennus has top notch stuff i lurk the Panda forum quite a bit so i notice he is probably the Go to Seller on SS.

Aside from buying from Yennus who is obviously safe to deal with how can you make sure if you buy of a Forum that you are not going to get taken?
