Good vaulting solutions in Canada

I'm presently trying to convince my mother to buy gold, but altough she recognizes the importance of doing so, she just can't seem to make the jump. Canadians are presently doing ok, so they have a greater normalcy bias than others.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can help me find any good vaulting solutions here in Canada. We had Kitco, but my mother would never go for that now. The Royal Canadian Mint has an unallocated solution, but I would not settle for anything less than allocated. An allocated solution can be done through the Mint indirectly with other institutions, but I do not know how exactly. Also, when I checked Brink's Canadian website, they didn't seem to have anything about gold storage.

Any suggestions are appreciated...

Perth Mint Depository down here in Australia is always an option. They serve clients world-wide.
 
Kitco offers both allocated and unallocated storage programs with the help of the Royal Canadian Mint. They also offer Perth Certificates and means of purchasing GoldMoney goldgrams.

To my knowledge ScotiaMocatta, ScotiaBank's bullion division, have the facilities to store it, but personally i dont trust them as Harvey Organ pulled his metal out of there a few years back.

According to this canadian precious metal buyer's guide, if your mom has a retirement savings plan then you can get bullion in the plans through Questrade and Cache Metals.
 
You should try Scotia Bank, I think they might have something like that, they are the only bank (I think) that actually sell gold, so they should have a solution for this.

I would agree that Scotiabank is not to be trusted.

It's strange that there aren't more alternatives, though.
 
Safety deposit box is always an option, but for me, I dont trust banks to store my monopoly money, so i wouldnt trust them to store my real money. I'd say get a home safe. Diablo21, all the major banks in canada sell bullion.
 
I have a safe at home to think I may need to get a safety deposit box when my stack gets bigger. Living in a tsunami zone means you probably don't want to stash all your PMs in your house!
 
Yep home safes are good for small quantities and alot of wealth can be stored in gold's small volume. Dont forget that you can stash it also in your back yard.
