Gold nuggets ebay 'Aussie.prospector'

Yes, I agree with Gazza79.

I have had a quick look and they all seem to be natural looking as they come out off the ground to me,
not backyard manufactured "nuggets" as some on fleaBay are selling.

It can be difficult for a newbie to differentiate between natural alluvial gold nuggets and manufactured ones.

To me, the manufactured ones stick out like dogs balls, as they don't have that smooth natural wear that gold nuggets
that has been eroding in the ground for thousands of years have.

Keep away from the rough and sandpapery-looking nuggets as they can often be manufactured nuggets.

Natural gold nuggets can sometimes have a rough sandpapery look to them, but they are quite scarce and hard to find
when prospecting for gold nuggets.

I would say that somewhere around one in a hundred nuggets that I have found has looked like that, so while that appearance in its self
does not necessarily mean that it is a manufactured nugget, better be safe than sorry and keep away from them.

There used to be a seller on eBay ( I haven't checked if he is still selling ) who listed and sold a lot of nuggets that all had that sandpapery look
to them, so he was obviously just making them as it would be impossible to source them all-naturally looking that way.

Yeah I'm just wondering because he has so many good quality nuggets in all sizes for sale. Thought as a prospector you would find these kind of nuggets only once in a while. Must be a huge operation or he is just really lucky.
 
Just got this reply in a group. Of course after I bought the nugget. Makes me really worried now. Maybe it's just gold that was melted down.

With over 900 positive feedbacks and 100% score on ebay I would be very surprised if he was selling fake nugs..

To me it sounds like the guy that bought nuggets from him to fill his pay dirt is the dodgy fkr..

PS. I don’t know the seller and have nothing to do with him in real life and have only bought from him twice over a 10 year period.

feels like a complicated spam at best, new member, 1 topic posted only and links to obviously good ebay account running no reserve auctions with vague reference to an obviously dodgy person complaining about pay dirt fraud being difficult with the nuggets bought?
wonder how much traffic it has driven to this ebay seller?
 
dont get me started on the private bidders on auctions that seem to all have a min price per gram to sell, usually this is how shill bidding operators work and they try to use social media to drive traffic to their accounts that then run auctions that are shill bidded up to minimum reserves
smells a bit to me but i guess im just a little jaded

Haha no mate, I just try yo figure out if that guy sells real nuggets. And you know what? I came to the conclusion that it could be a big scam and the people who mentioned that it's melted jewellery could be eventually right. The seller is not responding to questions if you ask about more details and behaves very dodgy. I did my research about certain people but have to be careful to make open allegations if I can't proof it. Personally I wouldn't buy from this seller!!! I cancelled my transaction as there are too many questionmarks for me. So that you think it's 'obviously a good ebay account' just shows how professional this operation is. As I mentioned before: account exists since 2008, over 2/3 of reviews in the last 12 months. I mentioned on fb some negative reviews I found. Hours later those reviews were gone. Also who has so many premium nuggets to sell at once all the time? No big social media presence in any prospector group. If you find regularly big chunks of 10g+ nuggets you would post them nowadays somewhere right? Furthermore I have the sellers name and post box address. I confronted the guy on fb but he denies it's him. He even responded to one of my posts. I'm 99.9% sure it's him. After that reaction I decided to cancel. Btw I follow this forum for a while, but as a silent reader.
Just my personal findings and opinion. You can do with those infos whatever you want!

I will mate. Won't touch nuggets for a while now. This kind of professional scamming scared me. Better invest the money in a detector and find the nuggets by myself so I know they are real haha.
I'm in Australia since end of 2018 but have been a stacker and coin guy for over 10 years now. In this area I know my stuff. But where I come from (Germany) nuggets are very rare to find. Thought it would be a cool thing to have one but I should have done more research before I placed my bid.
