Nothing like that, any DIY things i can do to test it? Vinegar, etc?

Vinegar  where did you get that from :P

There is no way of testing gold for purity without a XRF machine ,acid is destructive & not very accurate unless you have been using it for many years .
Run a magnet over it ,that will only tell you if it is gold ,maybe
Dependanig on the alloys used

just do the acid test gosh it ain't that destructive... rub a little on stone
we are talking micro stuff
and its accurate enough to tell u if you have minimum 14kt or 18kt
.

I probably wouldn't want to acid test that...anywhere... or let anyone else acid test it.

Nice Pope Pius and Saint Marry medal though. Thanks for sharing it with us Brando

you dont stick fkn acid on the article gosh that DIGGIN middle ages stuff :|
you DIG a wee bit off the insignificant area of medal such as DIGGIN bail or loop

brando, wrong thread buddy, plus most people want to know purity before handing over cash/silver

advertise in Buy, Sell & Swap forum (scroll down the Index of silverstackers to observe categories).

Who says bail and loop weren't added after the fact or changed at some stage?
