No this isn't spam! Thought some members might find this of interest;

OFF Pocket privacy pouch blocks mobile phone signals and stops anyone - including the government - from finding where you are
Metal-covered fibres shield your mobile phone from signals of up to 100dB
It can block any signal including 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS
First batch of 55 (AUD$95 ) cases will be shipped towards the end of September

The OFF Pocket claims to block every signal your phone emits or receives- including 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
To use it, you simply have to place your phone inside the case and close it.

Doesn't a hardware switchoff do the same thing?

How do you do that? The GPS is "disabled" on my fone, I just turned it off. Is that the same thing?

Not if it's an iPhone. It doesn't totally power down. You need a phone where you can remove both battery and SIM card.

Or just switch to Airplane Mode, pretty much the same thing. Or like Snowden's lawyers, put it in the fridge.

If the Gov want to find you, they will.

How do you make a call using one of these? How do you receive a call using one of these?

Oh, take it out of the pouch!

Nope its still on, same with if the battery runs out. it still has some power left to locate the phone. The Apple "find my iPhone" app works in both situations. The phone is always trackable unless you can take out the battery.

From about 4:30mins this vid talks about new smart phone capabilities and risks. Pretty freaky

This is pointless, you're better off taking out the battery which cost nothing.

And if you have something like an iphone where the battery can't be easily removed, then I'm sure you're a person that wouldn't be in the market for something like this and would not care about privacy.

Anywho im still using a nokia 6500, so my phone has no idea what tracking is :D

Question is what have you done for the government to want to find you? (not you specifically)

That's not the point. Why should anyone have the capacity to track anybody else? Fuck the government, it's immoral that they should be involved in tracking or spying on supposed free citizens.

The government has no place sticking it's nose in my business. I have a right to know the governments business.

The peoples governments should be transparent - but it is not the case (and may prosecute those whom leak info).
Citizens have a right to privacy - but it is not the case (reporters are tracked/being Jewish/Gay or whatever could be an offence/being a gun owner could be an offence etc/mentioning ones rights.....).

Things are back to front.

The most dangerous people, are unquestioning bulk of the population, under whom all manner of atrocities get enacted, IMO.

Sometimes I just think...people deserve another Nazi style hiding.
