Ghost Date panda

Guys could someone please explain what a "Ghost Date" Panda is?

I have seen some 1986 "ghost date" Pandas for sale that seem to command quite a premium and to my newbie Panda eye my set of 1986 Pandas look the same (probably missing something)

Late die state,
Ghost date and denomination have no frosting and are often visible only as outlines.

There is also a ghost temple on 10Yuan goldpanda from 1985
