German 10marks coin I got today, bit of advice please ?

I picked up 10 coins today 9 half sov's (various years) and 1 German 10 mark coin,

I've not come across this 10 mark coin before the chap I bought them off assured me it's the same as a half sov. ?

I took a gamble at it and took it as I only gave 850 for the 10 so thought it was worth the punt,

Whats the 10 cent coin worth are they rare ? What's its gold content ?
