Geiger look nicer.
Perth mint more recognisable.
Geiger..look nicer...
Perth mint ...

Reckon Perth Mint would sell easier? Larger market?

Geiger is a family business still run by Geiger himself. They own LEV Leipzig Edelmetalle and have offices in Germany and Switzerland. They are opening their own mine in September near their headquarters. They operate with the most advanced manufacturing technology and still use a 100 year old press for some of their copper products. Their service is outstanding. They have silver trading history for 800 years. Their bars are considered the Rolls Royce of bars in Europe.

See: https://www.geiger-edelmetalle.de/shop_content.php/coID/35/content/About-GEIGER/nav/41 or their product line: https://www.geiger-edelmetalle.de/geiger_pricelist.php

They are not a backyard business.

The Perth Mint we are dealing with was established by Government Act 1986.

The minted Geiger Bars are perfection, if you prefer cast bars you will still find the Geiger bars to be superior.

The Geiger production line is constantly expanding and sales volume rising every year. Noah's Ark 1oz are selling ca. 500.000 per year.

Beauty, Service and reputation, when was the last time you were in Perth?

Between the two Geiger is the winner in every category for me. Do yourself a favour and have a look at their website, the decision is easier than you think.

Cheers

I had a couple of geigers, sold them and bought PM. - Having said that lol. My geigers were in the mint plastic and had NO scratches or scuffs...
unlike......well whats done is done

I hear what you're saying.
Most of my PM poured bars look as though they were used as cricket balls before being sold.
I see poured bars as not intended to be particularly attractive but.........
We are still dealing with a metal known for its natural beauty and appearance is still part of the equation I'm sure.
Even in industrial strength poured bars, there should be some consideration given to aesthetic quality, particularly in the smaller bars.

As with other premium brands, I've bought a few of each to look at and then the rest in low premium such as PM but also spend the difference between the two on more silver. Racked up about 100+ of extra ounces doing this.

Figured there's no point stacking something pretty and more expensive if it's just going to sit in storage for a long time.

Very true.....they sleep most of the time somewhere out there. Sometines I dont get myself why bother to get numis whilst cant really enjoy them lol

OPM now here. Have you seen the actual bars yet the ones sold here?
Very attractive and better than NTR, i think based on personal preference.
Now we have an extra on the table :)

At the end of the day, I still come back to local product (Perth Mint).

I do know there are other manufacturers out there, PAMP, Geiger and others - and they do a superb job at producing world class products.

However - if I need to trade out of my position in a hurry, I want to have the widest possible buying audience, and with products stamped and made here, there is potentially less hesitation in buyers who may not be as familiar as we all are with the products that exist, and what fakes look like and so forth.

I can't give exact figures but you'd be surprised at how many Geiger bars there are in circulation in Australia. They've been very popular.

The question was which one, Geiger or PM. Geiger bars are actually cheaper (say 1kg), that is the cast bars, PM doesn't have any minted. Pound for pound Geiger and you get the aesthetics. Geiger bars are excepted around the world, try to find a PM in Europe or the US. The responses here are a clear indication in itself that Geiger is neither unknown nor has any of the quality issues.

Generally speaking, if the PM and Geiger are selling at the same price, you'd pick the Geiger. If you are having to pay a premium for the Geiger over PM then I'd be sticking to the PM. Premiums are perhaps reasonable for coins but not for bars.

@ Lunar dragon or anyone wanting to know about OPM bars.

I bought at least 1 10 oz bar this year and they have great eye appeal. Well made bars IMHO. I would buy over other bars any day if I can get the same deal...free ship and .89 cents over spot so long as spot is under $19....which hopefully will happen this or in the coming weeks.

.

for a 100g bar, there is only one choice

where is PM 100g bar?

Geiger bars look great. Way better than PM bars. Saying that, they are just silver bars. If silver goes way up in price then bars are bars. Cheapest bars I've bought in the $20 range are NTR bars.
Depends on where you think silver/gold is heading. For pure cheap as you can get silver, get the cheapest bars possible. :)
