Fuel shortages in Melbourne servos

You city drivers will be watching out for fuel tankers now, not just if any are arriving at the petrol stations but the ones on the roads with faulty brakes etc.

Just in time logistics is what it is called, it is more efficient and saves money. If something goes wrong though the just in time does not always work and there is none :)

It takes very little time for things to go pear shaped, if a few main routes were cut you would have food riots pretty quickly. Floods in SE QLD were a good example. There were a few angry people who were becoming a bit aggressive over certain food items in supermarkets when the shelves were empty.

One truck. Fuel shortages. What am I missing?

Accident to one fuel truck....safety checks on others... 100 odd trucks major defects..No deliveries some areas.Regards Errol 43

Topped up at BP today and only pumps still working were the premium ones - which was just fine

Well VicRoads & the RTA seem to think otherwise. Defects include; brake, steering & suspension faults & failures, chassis cracks, leaking air & hydraulic lines, worn tyres and dirty wiper blades ( :P )

VicRoads has conceded that a number of grounded tankers can be returned after recent repairs... so yes they probably aren't as major as they initially reported.

What broken tail-light officer?
'BAMB!"
Oh!, that one! :(

:P
Don't laugh too hard
Some 25 years ago I knew a bloke who got a canary
Within a week of getting his car roadworthy
The cop was trying to pick something , anything on this TF Cortina
NOTHING was wrong with it , it was like new

The item was

1 washer missing on a wheel nut
Those wheels nuts DID NOT require washers

He was advised by his mechanic NOT to rock the boat ;)

You could theoretically defect a brand new cop car. All it would take is 1 small fluid spill or overflow or an official with a poor understanding of what they are enforcing.

Many of my friends have been defected with "suspected breach of ADRs". The defect itself comes with a fine whether or not the defect is legitimate and of course the inspection itself to have the defect removed isn't free.

Some may say it's just another way to justify their employment.

Current SAPOL cars directly breach ADRs with their enormous centre console screens.

Ballarat's BPs are buggered.

Filled up at shell 1.52/litre....normal gouged price. :(
I filled up yesterday at the Sturt/Gillies BP and it was 1.51 I think (but I use the 98 anyway lol).
I find the Apco on Main rd generally has the cheapest petrol in Ballarat...
