If anyone has one of these, does it look as good as the picture?

Me thinks this coin looks fantastic.

This is the 2011 which after a quick search on the net looks 100% better than the 2009 version. One hell of a nice looking coin IMHO.

If Haggai cannot get a photo loaded, I will, but it will be after tax season.

It is almost impossible to find an accurate photo of these coins on the internet. This web site had an accurate photo a few weeks ago, but they must have sold the coin(s) and I cannot access that page. .

I have 5-6 of the 2011 coins and actually had 1 out of the lock box a few weeks ago because I thought one of my clients wanted to buy one. However, she decided to get one of the 2010 gold lunar tiger coins. Going from memory, the tree(s) is/are on the left hand side of the photo. The main difference between the photos and the real coin is that the weight and purity are on the card, not the coin. The other main thing I noticed from the above web site is that the page cited a mintage of only 1000 coins. However, I remember that the numbering seemed to allow for 10000 coins. My coins are numbered between about 150-299.

I have emailed the NZ Mint regarding information on this coin, but they never responded.

I'll have one in my hot little hands soon. Will post a pic as soon as I can.
Sorry guys, I promised but cannot deliver. Got my Pacific Sovereign today but it's the 2009 version. Still....very beautiful.

Found this, but still not a photo. Doesn't look as good as the promo pic above. Any luck with photos dccpa?

wrcmad,

I pulled one of the coins out of the lock box, but I still need to get a camera to take the photo. I will do so after tax season. The first photo is definitely photoshopped. There are no clouds on the coin and the palm leaves do not have much detail. So for the detail accuracy, I would say that the second picture is more accurate. But the second picture is too grainy and the coin looks nicer than that. Hopefully, my photo will be an accurate representation.

Did anyone ever get hold of one of these?

I bought five of them in 2011 and they are still sitting in storage. The linked one in the photo is the first numbered one I have seen over 300. Mine are numbered in the upper 200s.

Edit to add:

1. the weight and purity are very small print on the actual coin.

2. 2-3 years ago, a German company contracted to buy the next five year's production.

3. 2009 & 2010 were a different design from 2011.

Been about 3 years since I looked at the coins, but I would say they are about 20% better than the one in GC's photos.
