Fake gold for sale on eBay

Some of my best bargains over the years have come from eBay buys, so don't knock it.

Although, I must admit that the bargains are few and far between on there these days.

There was a time when I used to spend whole days in front of the computer refreshing the just listed items on eBay and scooping up the bargains, like the $100 face value gold coins for $100 each that some of the members of the opposite sex used to sell to me sometimes:D

Plus, let's not forget the 10% off eBay deals that they had regularly in years gone by, it was a surefire way of stacking under spot gold back then for those in the know!

Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for Newby stackers these days, as they have it a lot harder than we veterans used to have it.

I'm too young to ever consider a vet but yeah the deals are now few and far between. The thrill of the hunt mostly gone. Are there really many new stackers with premiums so high?

Sometimes the Perth Mint has had a 20% off discount on some items that were actually cheaper than anywhere else you could buy them.

Not that long ago (2021) was buying 1g au from PM's ebay store with the 10% voucher applying to the full basket. Price was already below bullion dealers before applying voucher. Probably was a clerical error as was suppose to apply only to collectables not bullion.

Another eBay mugs ripoff special.

2005 1 oz Nugget Fake coin, already bid up to $820 with 3 days to go.

They don't even try to disguise that it is a fake by adding the colour to it that the original coin has!

Sometimes I think that people deserve to lose their money on fleabay if they are so stupid or lazy to do even basic checks before bidding.

And another fake from the same seller.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/294892832049?hash=item44a8fb8531:g

This time a 2013 Elizabeth II 60th Coronation 1/4 oz proof coin, already bid up to $670 with 3 days to go!

If you are colour blind and can't see that it is not real gold, then the fact that it does not come with any packaging or coa
should be enough to alert anyone with two functioning brain cells that it is a Chinese knockoff.

Bidding on the fake 1 oz nugget coin already at over $2100, unfarking believable!

Here is a pic of the fake coin with a genuine coin for comparison for any newbies on here.

Or maybe the mugs who are bidding on it think that it is a major undiscovered error variety, with the Perth Mint forgetting to put the coloring on the coin!:D

Also selling cars on eBay!
No feedback as a seller. Joined eBay on 22 Feb 2022.

Love that brass shiny! I went to a science fair as a kid and bought fools gold..brass or some alloy with a bit of copper. PM has some of the highest quality strikes I've seen, apart from the series II 5oz silver bullion coins..disaster. Gold has a luster that is ..gold. Can't be fooled (unless you have eye problems). Unless it's plated..then it loses the strike quality..and why would cheap skates wanna waste real gold plating junk?

Hi there,

I was just wondering if you could give me some more information on this item such as purity, mintage figures (as you list it as rare) and where the denomination is as I can't seem to find it in the pictures.

G'Day,

If you copy the title of my listing and search ebay for the same you will find all the information you have asked me for.

There are a few world wide. I can't find any in Australia. All other listing show the coin as one peso. The listings also show the coin to be 22 ct - the weight of the coin seems to vary from listing to listing, however I have seen that before with small soft coins of this era.

I purchase this coin from an auction and it was described as being one peso 22 ct gold.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Peter.

Ebay is a cesspool of fraud and forgeries and fakes but Ebay doesn't care, these fakes make them so much revenue, that are complicit in fraud, counterfeiting and brand faking.

Yes, because eBay is participating in the game. But they banned crypto. I wonder why... not that I'd be interested, just saying...

I also saw countless obviously fake coins and bars, many with descriptions and photos that do give away the fact that they are fakes. But eBay just doesn't care. Normally these would not pass a humble review.
