Fake 1938 Crown from ebay

Purchased a "1938 crown" from an ebay auction.

Upon receipt of the coin I immediately realised it was a fake that did not match the image and sure enough weighed less than 26g and failed the ping test.

Have attached image showing differences between legitimate 1937 and fake 1938 on scales. Notice the different sized circular balls around the crown.

Seller wanted me to return the coin before they issued me a refund. No apology or anything

Plenty of fakes about unfortunately. If they did a switcharoo and sent you a fake one but the listing showed a legit one then that’s definitely poor form. Send it back for a refund and leave negative feedback, that’s probably the best you can hope for

Rather than apologize seller would have been offended that you dare ask for refund, after all seller is in the business of ripping people off
Can you share the seller link please mate.

In the past when I've received fakes I've insisted on a full refund, and if they want it returned I insist on them paying postage. I've always got a refund and most of the time they don't want the fake returned. You should not be left out of pocket even one cent.
