Fair Price for a PCGS MS70 First Strike Lunar Dragon Series 2?

Well I see all these shiny silver coins and bars and stuff on Ebay which seems a lot prettier than the usual 925 sterling scrap I buy for trade up/speculation. So I got myself said lunar dragon for 46.5 GBP or AUS $85 or so.

I only bought it as said dragon is my Chinese Birth Sign and thought what the hell may as well get a good un! Ask price is currently GBP 190 or so from a 'Certain' coin company in London which also happens to be the same vendor that sold me mine and they are reputable.

For me its a fair price as it saves me all the hassle of Customs, Tax, and getting the coin graded in the first place. Not to mention its now my 'Benchmark' coin for comparison or Grading as I'm new to numi's and need the standard for reference if nothing else.

What are people paying for PCGS coins of similar Ilk? Not that I'm worried but was wondering in general if PCGS is really worth the extra premium esp considering the 'First Strike' designation is pretty worthless what with the 3 month time frame etc.

Generally do people feel/believe that PCGS grading is a worthwhile effort for mass produced silver 1oz rounds?

I know for me in this case I can say yes its worthwhile when I consider the above but others thoughts would be appreciated on this subject as I know many on here have decades of experience with coins etc.

I did not know PCGS or NGC had a first strike type designation back when the 2000 dragon was released? 190 british pounds is a high price for this coin I have several that i would gladly sell for that! I like graded 70 coins ( I prefer NGC myself but both are good) they dont seem as popular in the Aus. Lunar coins but may get more so , grading is especially popular with Chinese modern coins and older coins. I wouldnt get other generic coins graded such as american eagles or maples but thats just me , doesnt seem worth it , as for the Aus. lunar stuff i have mixed feelings, I like them graded but the biggest markets for these in australia and Europe at least now does not seem to care about them graded and most of the new ones will grade a 69 or 70 anyway.

Which country Lunar ?

I personally prefer NGC because you can use Apple app. to check the coin series no and so on.

My Mistake silver star, tis a series 2, can tell am a newbie lol..

Generally people seem to agree with you Star in that slabbing coins is more appropriate for older and truly rare coins as opposed to the huge mintage modern 1oz rounds/coins. I doubt the vendors get 190 for a series one coin let alone the Series 2 they are currently advertising at this price when slabbed!! It doesn't stop people trying though!

Andrew the coin is an Aus silver lunar dragon Series 2 as described in the title which I have just amended.

Would like some more of these lunar coins but the UK tax situation amongst other things prevents me from buying more and there is much better value to be had, tis like every time I see a coin I like I have to resist the temptation to increase my Numi stack! Trouble is I keep finding sovereign proofs within 10-20% of spot and they appeal as much if not more than the Lunar coins!
