Experiences in Japan - bullion and coins

They are 999. Cost was about 285. So probably a little expensive for what they are - 160g of silver. But the demon type guys look freaking very cool in real life.. I am yet to open mine up but when I do I will take a some photos and post.

thanks heaps for the pictures! That was great. I took them into the shop and they told me they had finished those and only had just the bars themselves... so that was a bummer.

I ended up heading to the Japan mint shop and I bought 2 medalions

and a paper weight. The shop was tiny and I think the Osaka mint office is better.. but the workers basically told me to go to coin dealers as they don't sell most of their stuff direct to public.
drooooolll....

I paid around $300+ delivered for my Himeji Castle medallion ;)

They're pretty awesome once you view them in person, no regrets buying them here :D

There's some pics by Alor, null and me in the Today we bought... thread linked up in my before.

one thing I noted was it was over 2000 yen cheaper in the shop than what they list on line... I will be back over there at Christmas and will go to the Osaka shop this time. I will post on here before if anyone is interested in them.

I just wish they had some more stuff! haha... I got the paper weight with the phoenix and the turtle in silver for 12,000 yen as well.. But it was not as good value as the medallions as it is only about 60g silver.

Thanks for the infos here skipau
I'll be heading to japan maybe march next year so will take this useful info onboard

Thanks skipau.... I was I ntokyo but busy with new year shopping... Didn't manage to check out PMs... Next round would be a coin trip.

Hi all,
I was travelling on the Tokyo JR Yamanote line today and spotted a coin shop directly opposite Komagome Station. Has anyone checked out this store? Just wondering if it is worth the trip back to take a visit?
I am going to visit the nearby Japan Mint outlet at Ikebukero in the next couple of days - not sure what to expect... :)
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers
