Expecting "metal mail"? Delays at US Post office..

Luckily, only one of my packages has felt the sting of these recent USPS delays....it is going on a week past it's scheduled delivery date now ( Be calling them on Monday ).

I sent a package registered insured about 300 miles and it is a week overdue. Considering that everyone who touches a registered package is supposed to sign for it, how does it get lost?

It's merely been randomly chosen as part of USPS's new complementary "pre-toning service" program.


No doubt to be quite popular with those who enjoy a touch of color to their silver.. :)

I highly suggest you peruse the recent customer comments on USPS's Facebook page prior to picking up that phone & dialing..


Unless you're the type who enjoys waiting an hour for a rep to answer your call, who then gives you nothing but an attitude, then either "accidently" hangs up on you, or puts you on hold for another hour? :)
 
So there are multiple people from different parts of the world having the same issues, and it's been going on for how long, a few weeks or more? Now is a good time to stack fiat!
 
I have a half dozen different orders that have been delayed numerous days. Its really starting to piss me off. Whats the deal???
 
At this point in time I have 15 orders lost in the mail system right now. I spent 30 min on the phone with USPS filing a complaint while they ran all the tracking numbers with no answers for me whatsoever. All of these are not "metal mail" deliveries either. They implemented a new barcode system that has failed. You couldn't pay me to use USPS right now. This is by far the worst service I have ever received.
 
I have two separate shipments sent from the same place at the same time two weeks ago.

One is in transit to Australia, seemingly ok, and the other has been lost by USPS.

Why do you say lost?

Seems so.. permanent.


Sounds more like "delayed."

Even if sent from the same place/same time, which wouldn't seem to make sense -- but this is the USPS of 2015, you're talking about here. :P


I've experienced international mail taking 2-3 times as long as it should these days.

Domestic (within the US) has been variable. Though at least for me, sounds like I've been fairly lucky, only occasionally a bit late. Others haven't been so fortunate, dealing with ridiculous delays.
