Exit strategy .... what will you buy ?

What's an exit strategy? ;)

I think it depends if you believe this is a speculative bubble or not.

If not, then an exit strategy is called "trading" or "exchanging" for goods/services as desired.

Depends a lot on perspective I guess.

Surely there is something you desire or want to do/experience once the stack is finished and the price per oz is a gazillion $ ? Alternatively if the time comes and the stack value has reached a peak and is not sufficient to achieve those aims, then I'm sure many people would want to "exchange" into another asset class and take advantage of some other undervalued assets such as some of those mentioned above for further investment/hedging.

I personally like shineys type of idea, A nice rural property with low hr's income potential, tho near the coast so Kapun errol and the crew can anchor up on the weekends and restock the bar and I can take the boat out for crayfish, crabs and barra when I tire of grassfed sirloin.

Many people spend an inordinate amount of time on working and building their stack planning for a future where the price of silver go's up to X amount of $, but I,m wondering and then what ? If you are all physical where do you plan to sell it or will you attempt to swap it for assets* ? If you sell it and have a heap of cash will you keep it in a bank ? If you buy shares will it be mining or food stocks.

If as Nukz say's realestate is still going sideways what will the new opportunity be ? Space mining perhaps ? Nano tech ? A lot of people here are comparatively young and still have a good couple of lifetimes ahead of them compared to others who have already lived three or four and have the livers to prove it, so perspectives are like arseholes really.
But a few of the common denominators are Stack, time, comparative value and the future of the global economy.

If as many think and feel the global economy is due for a reset shortly in whatever form, market crash, runaway in/de flation, martial law, what then ? sell/swap and snap up the bargains (in what form)? sit it out and see whats what once things have leveled off ?

* Would you just lug 20 kg into the nearest bullion buyer ?

long term - My wonderful Wife's plan is to sell everything. Buy a big flash Winnebago and see this amazing country of ours or as much as we can in the time left to us. Investing in the experience and life over everything else. income will be passive.

i'm assuming things will be really bad when "it hits da moon" the question is who will be selling land at that time. Its like selling someone selling their last cup of water in a desert for 10 oz of gold. Without that water you'll never be able to enjoy that gold. I think we need to have 2nd and 3rd option for what to exchange our pms for when the time comes

Excellent point Argentum, we have a nice little slab of productive and well watered dirt which would not be traded for anything ever, I'm sure there would be many family's who feel the same and see such places as home. Business enterprises feeling the pinch might be another matter tho, those with no attachment to the land other than income.

Another strategy might be not to wait till it hits da moon, it is afterall very difficult to pick a top or bottom from what I've read so you take your trading portion and average out on the way up after a certain point. IE as all go's to hell around the place and asset values other than silver or gold drop you cherry pick. You might lose a certain percentage before the bottom of the dip for realestate or shares and lose a few more on the value of your silver or gold as it rises but you might also get some certainty of being able to do a deal.

I like the idea of 2nd and 3rd options tho, please explain?

I only started this thread as I have no idea myself, I did a few searches and couldn't find anything even close to comprehensive options on where to unload 20 Kg worth of physical silver or gold alone let alone how to convert it into realestate apart from a reference to the Perth Mint.

You should hit kapun errol up for one of the SS Silver Stackers tender boats instead, I'm sure you could find some willing crew for free tucker an drinks.

How many of you here factor quality in or of life over "things" when stacking ? Family, friends, experiences, and how have you figured that into your stacking and ultimate endgame or exit strategy ? Do you like or enjoy your work, study, planning for the future ?Do it with a loved one or yearn for something different ?

I ask because doing a lot of reading here through various threads and reflecting on my own life I see a lot views and opinions that I have had and still hold strongly and others that I have held in the past but have shed through living life and seeing things from anothers point of view or a different perspective.

Some of the best moments of my life and experiences have been in times when I haven't had literally a dollar to my name. Mind you so have some of the worse.

Family and friends seem to be the constant through my life and a truer measure of happiness than any material possessions I could ever own. I note a number of really switched on younger people here far more advanced in the investment game than I was at their age but wonder if they are keeping a balance in living life rather than focusing on on a dollar in exclusion of all else.

A bar of silver or gold doesn't give shit how you are feeling or what you think so make sure you use it rather than the other way round.

This is what I'm going to do: I am sold on Chris Meeke's idea. Why? Because you can! :D

Some of you may have guessed I am passionate about the WRC. Some avid fans may have watched the WRC round in GB last weekend. Usually, you will see this:

But Chris Meeke set a new benchmark in his Bentley. YES, IN HIS BENTLEY!

I want to buy freedom.

Some place where I can decide what I want to do and when.

This place doesn't need a lot of material things. Just life's simple comforts without an alarm clock.

If I can achieve that then the plan has been executed.

bit of a damp squid. i have fulfilled most of my targets and therefore am happy to hang up my shoes when called upon. i have had a very full live of fun, not always politically correct. one thing i enjoy is work, its fun :) however tommorrow i will be going out to a gold claim with an old codger to listen to his dream. however the years are stacked against him so i fear that he wont see it through but i will humour him. my cup is full and am really only an oxygen thief now.

lost a mate about 6 months ago, he wanted to die by being shot by a jealous 21 yr old husband, didnt happen :(

silver in the endgame? endgame is to far down the track for most to be able to buy their life back. so passive stacking is pleasurable. doing a good deed is heartwarming. driving a porsche when gray is a fail :(

i dont have any plans no more, they all been done, telling some who needs to be told is good. :)

actually dont even want to fly anywhere no more. not even on a holiday.

20kg to a dealer, way to far beyond my comprehension. :(

Melancholy old fart, you need a holiday, a road trip, drinking strong homemade grog, catchin barra and crabs, pissing off tourists and greenies, shooting and eating defenseless animals, getting lost, bogged, punctured, broken down, fixed and back on the road. You might die in the process but at least you'll know you are still alive.

Edited to add: there is no such thing as cant, only dont want to.
