Everyday Carry Coin... Looking For Suggestions.

Good day.

Seeing this coin has motivated me to find an everyday carry coin...

I have always carried something to fiddle with in my pocket... kinda like worry beads, I suppose... used to carry a my grandad's pen knife with a piece of cedar which I would whittle into something... a pair of smooth stones... something that reminded me of somewhere I had been before or someone I have know... but I have not done this since moving to Australia.

My first thought when seeing this Buffalo was I would carry that with me everywhere... and so I am looking for a coin or coins for everyday carry. I have a couple of parameters...

Need to be silver, would not mind sterling for better wear... but no plated coins.
Looking for something unusual or interesting... does not need to be new... in fact... I like old things with a story.
Does not need to be a coin... could be a blob or a hand-poured bar...
Can be a pair or two different coins.
Need to be able to be sacrificed... so nothing that must stay pristine to hold it value... it will be in my pocket with keys and change... nothing rare or collectable.
Needs to be small enough to be carried but not so small that it can be easily lost... so 1oz give or take would be able right.

My first thoughts included a Mexican Libertad, maybe really nice buffalo(do not like most of the current crop), Silver Bullet Silver Shield...

Anyone else have an everyday carry coin? Ideas and suggestions are more than welcomed.

I have 2 that alternate from time to time and double as my card guard at poker - a 1988 holey dollar and an 1808 8 Reales

The 8 reales has history and grime and patina ;) . The holey dollar has a neat hole and feel and you can twirl it round your finger :cool:

Definitely thinking of a hand-pour... and holey-dollar sounds like something fun to fiddle with...

1937 Crown is nice in the pocket, can't be spent accidentally like round 50's! Get a fake 1930 Penny & put it on your keyring (I have a silver bullet, headache when entering court or air travel). ASE or 2oz Lib nice also, general public appreciate their beauty but anything .999 could be a sign that you stack.
Would you wear a silverstackers t-shirt? Bad idea

Round 50's would worry me... I am sure I would end up spending them!

No concerns about carrying .999... I won't wear a SilverStackers T-shirt... but everyday I own, use, and carry things that are worth a nice sized stack... a Leica M9 with a decent lens will set you back $15,000AUD... carry two bodies and three lenses... well... you get my point. Never could understand the paranoia about having a few thousand dollars of bullion around the house when my binoculars, cameras, laptop and few other things that I use and carry everyday are worth a small fortune. Enough ranting...

I like the holey-dollar... I am sure I will lose the dump though!

Get a Silver Bullet Silver shield round

I will be getting one mounted in a frame to put on a chain as some Bling when I get mine

Insurance?
 
Of course, being properly insured is wise.

But I know plenty of people that would be scared half to death to walk down the street with a $1000 in their pocket, but have no concerns about carrying an iPhone 5 with a $600 pair of Beats headphones over their ears... some much for situational awareness... still have trouble working that one out.

Back to coins... anyone know where I can get a holey dollar...

My everyday carry is a 2012 canadian silver maple, it was my first non-numistic coin I bought, so I dont really mind if I drop it or anything, meaning it's not the end of the world, i'm still disappointed if I drop it, just not OMG.

1 ounce coins are a good size, I think, not too big but not too small, you can feel it in your pocket, but you can sometimes think you lost it, even though it is still in your pocket.

Just my opinion
 
Grabya self a ten dollar silver coin of the state you live in, fav Aussie tourist spot or your favourite Aussie bird. ;)

Great xmas present for the man that has it all :P :D

Sure they're only sterling 92.5% (some are 999) but atleast they have a face value of ten bucks.

And, if you want, there's the double thickness piedfort coins as well.
