My two favourite pieces, not sure which i like more:

I have zero interest in Englehards. I understand they have been a premier Mint for sometime however there Premiums are insane compared to anything else.
 
Actually, Engelhard hasn't produced any silver bullion for the consumer market since the 1980's. Charles Engelhard Jr sold the company to BASF back before 2000 and it was absorbed into BASF and disappeared into the mists of history just after 2000.

The premiums depend on what, when and where you're buying. The prices on eBay are generally nutty, but I pay $2 over spot for Engelhard stuff at my LCS and I don't think there's anything insane about a $2/oz premium.

Your comment caused me to think back to when I had just started stacking. I had zero interest in Engelhard products at that time but I've since had a major attitudinal realignment, moved out of the generic bars I used to have and converted into exclusively Engelhard bars and rounds.

I m not sure why people are commenting on this beautiful bars and round.
These are no longer in production. Therefore are pretty much collectors items.
I started these brand thread so everyone can see what is still out there and enjoy.
Not like other brand that is likely to be well known.
Whether you appreciates or not it had becomes collectors item.
Imho if I have the opportunity to get somemore of this I will.
This thread is just record for members to compare what is out there.
Old beautiful bars and rounds.
It will be part of historical moment.
For those that have them I envy them.
When I feel to hug them I come to this corner.

Engelhard lovely brand no longer in production.
How many of those have been melted no one knows.
 
Just got my hands on a group of 1oz bars, three different styles, large E type, large E type with mc in logo, and eagle type. The eagle type looks great and is the perfect size for a medallion/ dog tag to hang around one's neck. But that would mean drilling a hole through it and don't think I could deface such a pretty thing. These are my first Engelhard bars and I must say they are impressive. Will buy more, stack it high.

I'm sure you could find someone to make a sterling bezel to put on a chain so you don't have to deface the bar. They make them for the credit Suisse bars from 5g up to the 1oz bars
