In America right now there is a real disconnect between what the stock market is doing, hitting new all-time highs virtually every week, and what is happening in the real economy. If you look at places like Detroit, you wouldn't even think you were in the United States if you were there.

This disconnect has been the source of my inquietude for some time. The Twitter float this morning is a good example; 2 billion dollars in stock!

I'm starting to think if the Fed was manufacturing deck chairs on the Titanic, there would be more chairs than passengers - no one need go the lifeboats! I'm starting to feel like a dork, walking the deck in my life jacket with an inner tube around my waist.

Actually the Fed is adding to the iceberg - and the lifejackets don't float.

This is exactly what Martin Armstrong wrote about many years ago....as the bond bubble bursts and currencies fail, capital will rush to the least risky investment....not safe, but least risky... and he correctly stated that the biggest recipient would be the u.s. stockmarket. It is all about capital flow and fear....I know there is an obsession with p.m's on this site but the reality is there is no such flight globally...yet.....selected countries are importing large quantities, but the general mood is still flat to negative...if you stay married to an idea for too long without opening your eyes to what is happening..you will get fleeced.......

On a side point....he also made it clear that the other recipient of capital will be the u.s. dollar as it is the best of a bad bunch. This will be very negative for gold and silver initially.

I have money in Cyprus but fortunately missed the haircut. I'm not worried so much about the SHTF, but more so GFC2.

I just don't like the idea of money sitting in an account with the potential for a bail-in. If you recall Westpac and I think NAB were bailed out in 2008 to the tune of a few billion, if same circumstances now, different outcome.

Tolley_67, yes you would expect stackers to be PM centric as that's what we do. Next best option is racehorses, at a pinch you can eat them.

I have eaten them and they are not very good.......

Did you hear about that guy that was sent to hospital after eating a horse meat burger His condition is said to be stable.
Is eating horsemeat really that bad? Let's put it to the vote. All those in favour say 'aye', all those against say 'neigh'
I got some horsemeat steaks out of the freezer earlier aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnndddddddddd they're off!
But seriously, you have to be careful eating horse...it can give you the trots!
I tried it once and it gave me nightmares.
It wasn't a big serving...barely more than horse d'oeuvres

Well I believe they are going to confiscate pms just like they did in the 30's......And they're also forcing people into massive RE debt which will only end well for the powers that be like they're doing in the U.S by buying all the bad mortgages....

It seems to me that NO WHERE is safe anymore and they just want us to be tax slaves barely surviving.

yep that is why silver will go nowhere for a while yet, at least until the stock market bubble pops

I'm tired of all this picking on TheEnd for his youth and his perspectives. At least he's on here gaining perspectives and HOPEFULLY being educated by the people here who've been through the mill and can share some knowledge. If you've read his posts you'll see that he's chasing work and doing the sort of self-assessment that young people do.

How about a bit of understanding folks?

French?

Horses eat salami in Afghanistan, the Dutch eat it. I was having a meal with a few Dutch fellas, read the back of the label as I do and said"this sh%t has horse meat in it..." They said yes it does and looked at me as if I was an idiot, apparently they eat horse meat! I did not know that. My favourite thing over there was MRS Spunkmeirs muffins - seriously they taste like they are fresh out of the oven even after sitting under a vehicle seat for 2 months.

Ah the memories....

productive member of society? Isn't society just producing crap thats poisoning the planet anyway.
Be productive..... make more useless crap people dont need so they can buy it with money they dont have... then have it break shortly after so you can sell them the same stuff again...
It seems like every ones just stuck in there own little hamster wheels trying to run for a carrot that never gets any closer.
I work but I don't believe the system is right at all.
Progress is the new name for exploitation.

Society? meh.

That's a good way to put it and this brings me to a corollary point. In my view, the important thing is that while societies are being driven down a road to slowly becoming monocultures (the Disneyfication, Hollywoodification, and McDonaldsification of people in ever growing number of cities), many of the people in those societies are experiencing isolation. Everyone should be taught at home that to divide people means that the people can more easily be conquered. Contrary to the destructive rantings of a few people in the stacking community who claim that unified efforts by the people against societal wrongs are worthless and bad, I believe that it is (intelligent) unified efforts that the banksters and political string pullers fear most. So for those destructive stackers who rail against collective efforts like the Tea Party activists and every other group of activists, I say you are being a shill for the banksters and you have a long way to go before you can appropriately assert that you have embraced an opposite consciousness. Without people coming together in activist groups, civil rights in the U.S. for non-Whites, for women, and for other groups of individuals for example would still be basically non-existent.

BTW, the above is not directed at you OneDay, I can't claim to know what your opinion is of collective efforts.

Progress can be the only cure for exploitation. Progress isn't necessarily new technology, new currencies, or new socio-economic systems and it certainly has no intention. Progress definitely is not to be confused with modern day corrupt policies or even perfection. Progress can be as simple as going back to something that actually worked. "Progress" is a term that has been co-opted perhaps by some people, but it really only means improvement or advancement. Without progress, we might continue drowning in laissez-faire capitalism for many years to come.

Real progress is good for people.

.

Watched the documentary "I am", I was very impressed with it. Societies progress through co-operation, our society is built on competition.

Well for your information CJ im actually nearly ten years older than you! Centrelink requires me to apply for 'at least' three jobs per week....This week previous week I have applied for 'AT least' 20 jobs online.... I've had three interviews within two weeks and lost two jobs....waiting to hear back about the third next week...

Was at the job agency that I have to go to every second week through Centrelink last week and I asked the job lady how bad things are at the moment out in the job world and she said...VERY BAD!

So just so you know mate I am trying, but if you hav'nt noticed already the economy is actually in pretty bad shape......... And I am pretty disappointed that even though the Libs got in, fuck all has changed...

As if i'm going to invest in RE when its so obvious things aren't going to well in the 'real world'!

Well. I am really sorry that you are not doiing well theend.... But seriously, there is something you can do! Was talking to my mrs about it... Ironing. Yep. Basically watching movies and tv all day while you iron. You should be able to get through five full baskets in eight hours, which is 125 for a days work... Not bad for watching tv. We have talked about it, doing it at night when the kids are in bed... Together. Not brain surgery but I guarantee that after a few months you will have so much work that you will be turning it away... Then you add delivery to it for an extra few bucks.

I am not pulling your leg... The cleaning and service industries are always there. Good money too. No pressure or stress. If my job goes belly up, i will start a cleaning and ironing business the next day and will not look back.
