eBay Panda discussions

you could check the numbers but i am guessing the coins shown are just stolen pictures so they would show up as normal in the pcgs or ngs database. People like this are scary because of the high feedback rating like jc888.. wrote , I think they sell a ton of low priced junk to build the feedback for grand finally rip off on a mass scale like this, I doubt they are fake coins or slabs the seller simply never had them. Thanks for all the honest people out there trying to bring these scams to light.

Yeah they sell crap and build up the feedback, this is a classic scam which they ran with USB sticks and electronics but now they're moving to higher value targets like coins.

These scammers are getting better, this one has the eBay 'top-rated' seller thing too. What a load of bull.

Numbers are legit.

But I don't think the seller has the coins.just the photos.

I think he is going away on a long holiday to a far away place after this heist.

ALSO THESE TWO COINS

230725293578
330665613193

HAVE THE SAME PHOTO AND SAME GRADING NUMBERS

ONE IS 1/2 oz AND ONE IS 1 oz.

Its a scam for all the reasons exposed (all feedback is for small items) and the shipping cost are too expensive. If he send to you the wrong item. He dont pay the shipping costs only the value of the item if you are lucky

Good work guys if we all keep an eye on these scammers and report the listings at least we will save some punters grief and the scammers might leave the Panda's alone :(

The Pictures are stolen from genuine dealers listings.

Here is an example.

Scam Listing
Genuine Listing

This one is especially incriminating, as the 1994 G10Y is 1/10oz as listed in the genuine listing, not 1/2oz as depicted in the scam.

A find like this is really good, as now the genuine seller can report the stolen pictures to ebay, they will close any offending listings on the basis of copyright infringement, and after a certain number of these, close the account.

Should we create a sticky for "fake coin sellers" ... similar to the thread that CCF has?

I thought this one was a little different, it is a 1986 12oz Silver Hong Kong Expo coin

Now is does show damage to the rim so not sure if this is a crack to the blank or a die crack with the pressure to press 12oz, so it could be a unique coin. Then again it could be a fake, and is the damage worth it ? So far $1260.00 no bids.

It ranks high on the Silver rarity and dollar value. Just not sure on the quality. Not for me though

One of those just sold in PF 69UC condition for $2225. So $1400 seems like a reasonable price for a raw coin.

Maybe someone on here maybe interested in this, 1987 5oz silver panda with box and COA. The 1oz is missing. It's up for auction on Ebay. item# 230726370746. The seller is Las Vegas mint. A very good seller. I have dealt with him on many occasions and the Pandas I have got have been very good.
The auction ends in around 6hrs

I've wanted the 87 5oz for so long. But the listing says this has a mintage of 25,000 whereas I thought this only had a mintage of 8540? Are there 2 varieties of the 5oz? Less than 30 minutes left. Decisions, decisions... should I? shouldn't I?

Is this different to the one you posted? 370570208054

Mintage numbers are different, can't see what the differences are between them. I'm just suffering temporary blindness right now with the clock ticking down.

Theres the 5oz Long Beach, 5oz HK Expo, 5oz ANA expo and the normal 5oz with S50Y denomination.

I can't see which one it is as I'm at work.

Ouch have a look at the certificate on the item page, it will tell you what you are looking for. Oh and dont forget with Pay Pal payments in US$ the exchange rate is usually less $3AUD. Would have posted sooner, Why do I have to wait 600 seconds between posts? :(
