call them
The link opens to a trojan horse. Gotta love windows :/

Cheers. Thanks 1for1. And you'll remember the Ainslie's one:

Its quite useful for SS to be aware of instances like this, as it indicates a change in sentiment, which will change as we get closer to some major highs & blowoffs. You'll recall some of the stories told about the late 70s, in the gold rush. One of the important points made by Robert Mish (in his interview with Chris Martenson) was that junk silver sold for up to 30% less than spot price, due to the refinery back-log.

in case you are in KL, the number may be useful :)

Were these ads commonplace in Malaysia or an isolated incident ?
Strange that silver would be hard to find then.
Good point Black_Sun.

im sure all is curious,
who is the lady next to the poster. a promotion lady? :D
cool glasses

What advert..? Why is the sign blocking out the Lady in blue?

Silver Dirham premium is very high, though they buy back at spot+premium, still not worth the value imo.

You wouldn't notice on a mac or linux either

That, my man, is exatly why I've been using linux for the past 15 years

Oh, plus you can actually diagnose your own issues easily without tediously having to click through loads of crap only to be told to connect to the internet when it's the wireless broadband modem you are having issues with in the firstplace

Hi, poster was a one off from what i saw but i didnt get around much so cant say if the advertising was widespread and if there were silver shops around and i just never found them.. i wasnt really gonna buy much so didnt seek them out.

Yeah i guess that chick worked for the company or she may have been random, people are real friendly in Malaysia!

Hi, guys,

I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There is only ONE silver dealer that many buyers go to as far as I know...and that is a 30 minutes drive out of the city centre. They deal mostly in paper numis and Australian coins I.e. kooks and lunar, and pandas.

Most buyers or collectors are educated on silver via the net, though some groups have initiated awareness programs such as the poster in the earlier thread. Some came out with car stickers. Malaysian market is still very young as far as silver and gold is concerned. There are a handful numbers of sharks who buy in a dozen or so of monster boxes and resell it on and offline.

Recently, we have 2 private minters which came out with their own designs and they sell above spot by as much as 30%... and yes, I don't buy any from either!

Cheers.

That top coin is a world dirham from royal silver company collector only issue and is super rare in aus great looking coins apparently they are readily available in Malaysia and still sell for around 75 AUD

Geez 1for, that website could open to a trojan horse. Malaysia looks like a good place to visit. People are friendly everywhere, Canada included :) Overlooking the fact that our coins have milk spots.

Hi, what website? I didnt post any links?

KL was ok, definitley a mixed bag. Yeah your right there are tons of great people all over the world; also about milk spots which destroy what would otherwise be a semi-decent investment.. shame ill have to pass on RCM coins until they sort there schitt out.

Hi, I was referring to the website on the poster. Company website. Hope your enjoying your malaysia trip, always wanted to go there. I have not suffered any milk spots yet on coins but gutted that this happens. The government here really babbles on and on about how superior the craftmanship their coins are to the point that nobody much questions it. Guess there is no such thing as a safe thing.

Malaysia is growing in terms of understanding the value of PM's, the largest mint which has been actively promoting PM is currently Public Gold (http://www.publicgold.com.my/v1/)

Furthermore to that there is a local Facebook group with approx 6500 members call Silver Lot Shop where most of the buying and selling of silver happens.
