I ask myself why the man in charge - Obama - needs to seek the response of the Republicans. I thought the Democrats were in power so they should make the moves.
The senate is majority ruled by the Democrats, yes.
The House of Congress is majority ruled by the Republicans, oi!
So, for any legislation to pass, it has to appease the Republicans in the house, AND the Democrats in the Senate AND not be veto'd by El Presidente Mr. Big Shot Boss man.
