Which years are the restrikes?

Is there a way to see with ones are restrikes and the old ones?

No, same dies used.
The only difference is the capsules they're in. The old coins were in pretty poor square capsules which let air get the the coin whereas the restrikes are in round airtites.

Many original strikes have been taken out of their square capsules and put into round airtites.

This is where confusion can set in.

Apparently the original strikes have more give away, i.e weight fractionally more. I haven't actually checked yet..

Must take awhile for news to reach Sweden? :P
Doesn't really diminish the value of the coins, does suck if you're a long time collector though.

Of course it diminish the value if the mintage increases and the coin is semi numismatic.
And we receive news in Sweden as fast in Victoria. Can't you tell I am new to silverstacking?

All of the 90s kooks have a mintage limit of 300k, that' still very small when you compare them with the likes of Pandas.
The majority of those will either be damaged or lost with time so these remints present a unique opportunity for new collectors.
Anyone with a stash of remints will do very well long term in my opinion.

Also don't stress, I know Sweden isn't backwards, just my poor attempt at humor.

Remints only constitute 5-10% of the total mintage of each year - technically they're rarer than originals!

Yes the originals show their age as a rule.. Square capsule and an incredible crimson to purple patina forming from the rim in.. These are the ones you can be comfortable securing as legit Originals.. Non toned square capsule to me is tampered or I'd like to see provenience of storage in air tight Atmosphere..

A toned kook is a beautiful kook

Well perhaps $58 per kook is not the going rate then

Some of the years might sell for that much

Why not list them here on SS for free, and see where it leads?

How many rolls are we looking at?

That was the plan initially but I'm no closer to getting an idea on price than I was before I started the thread, unless I'm delusional and these really are only worth $30.
This is the little stack I am planning to get rid of:

60x 1991 kookaburras
60x 1992 kookaburras
20x 1993 kookaburras
20x 1994 kookaburras
20x 1995 kookaburras
20x 1996 kookaburras
21x 2012 kookaburras

221 coins? That's not just a "small stack". In the worst case you should get at least 6,600 - 7,000 USD for them! In excess of 10,000 USD is also possible.

That's a pretty nice collection. No need to be modest when you have over 3 kgs of silver in your possession!

Of course, a few weeks ago a saw a guy's stack of dozens of platinum coins in a case. Worth in excess of 200,000 $.

My personal advice to you: don't sell now! Prices are very low! Silver was 40+ $ a few years ago, now it's 18-19 $. You could wait a few more years, months at least. This is the worst time for selling any PM, as they're dipping.

Kookaburra mintages for those coins you mentioned are mostly around 300,000 pieces/year. They don't have the potential of Pandas (unfortunately).

So, they're all restrikes... :/

...but then again, you might have a personal emergency situation for selling. It's regrettable, but if you have to sell, you have to sell...

Appreciate your post and agree with you.
I wish I had something else I could sell to make the same amount of money.

If I can sell them for $38-$40 a coin them i'm not going to be too upset.
