Bitcoin creator identified as Australian Craig Wright in confession to media

Australian tech entrepreneur Craig Wright, long-suspected of having created cryptocurrency Bitcoin, has confirmed his identity to three publications, ending years of speculation.

In an interview with the BBC, Dr Wright provided proof to back up his claim using digitally signed messages and cryptographic keys known to be owned by Bitcoin's creator.

"These are the blocks used to send 10 bitcoins to Hal Finney in January [2009] as the first bitcoin transaction," he said during a demonstration.

Doesn't matter.... think of the royalties he can claim with man+dog implementing Blockchain.

I am sure the ATO would love to see the ongoing taxes of that income stream.

Others had "lab" keys hence not a proof.
 
its truly amazing the lengths he has gone to though to try and prove he is satoshi. pulling off whatever he did in front of andresen took major cajones.
 
I don't buy it one bit.

Back in December on the eve of being raided for tax evasion Write blows a whistle claiming to be Satoshi with proof that to back him up. The proof is reviewed and is debunked, mostly because of the back dating on several of his documents proved that he was forging the dates.

Now roughly 5 months later he is screaming that he has "better proof" that he is Satoshi. Give me a break! Of course he has better proof! He has had 5 months to correct his previous mistakes. If he was the real Satoshi, don't you think he would have the absolute best proof of who he is from the get go?

The bad thing now is that he has Andresen on his side and most people think that anything Andresen says is gospel.

The real Satoshi is either still in hiding or is dead. Write is a phony.

In all honestly it doesn't! That was the main point in Satoshi adopting an alias from the beginning and then ducking out once Bitcoin was up and running. He didn't want to be the face of Bitcoin. He wanted Bitcoin to thrive and live off itself, which is another reason why I have a hard time believing Write is Satoshi.

That's the biggest shocker to me. If I'm not mistaken the first time Wright said he was Satoshi, Andresen shot it down. It would be interesting to see what kind of smoke screen Wright is using now to make Andresen do a 180. I honestly still think this is play by Wright to help his tax evasion and bump his companies that are associated with Bitcoin.
 
Let's just wait to see if he has been 'recruited' - is that a blip on the blockchain coming into view? What the blocks aren't being saved correctly? ;)
 
I might have a go in the spotlight for a bit, collect all that interview money then say nah sorry wasn't me

The media is still ignorant to how it all works so this will probably keep occurring, I think this is what now like the 8th person to be confirmed? I think even the public is over the media stories about them finding the creator again.

All they have to do to prove it is to prove control of the Genesis address (1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa) or of the Genesis block transaction (4a5e1e4baab89f3a32518a88c31bc87f618f76673e2cc77ab2127b7afdeda33b) even if this was setup as a nonce the creator would still have enough to easily prove they set it up, if they wanted to.
 
Yea, I think either someone else saw his proof and totally debunked it or he realized his new proof wasn't as solid as he thought it was. Earlier this week there was a video of Wright saying the reason why he revealed himself was to help his friends family because the media and people were hounding them to get to him. Now that doesn't matter? Once again I call bull.

He knows he can't prove he's Satoshi and him leaving it hanging like that is just him not out right saying he was trying to dupe people.
