counterfeit pre dec

So I bought a bunch of Jeweler's scrap which had a lot of pre 46 stuff in it.

I found a Fake 1926 florin 8.5grms (11.3grms) and 1916 shilling 4.1grms (5.6grms)

are these known?

The coins I have found are a distinctive Dark iron grey. nowhere near the silver colour of the .800 coins, noticeable weight difference as well just fondling them.

I'd think it would take a skilled Jeweler or a Chinese counterfeit ring to have a good go at the round 50s
 
Modern fakes or fakes from back in the day?

You are lucky, they are worth more than the silver content. I know a couple of people who collect fake pre dec.
 
I got a 1937 crown that is underweight and a greyish colour,you would never pick it,will swap for a thousand ounces of silver :D

The ones I have, I would say are from back in the day. there is some pitting and wear, looks like they have been through a few transactions.
 
Two weeks ago I purchased 6 X 1937 crowns in cardboard holders, all looked good except one with a bad mark on it which I decided to clean, as soon as I broke it loose it was obvious it was to thin to be real so, out comes my 1 kilo magnet and lucky me, there were 2 fakes. Although I know who sold them to me, eBay does not want to know about it. So now I use the magnet before opening any package of silver from an unknown and if I get a reaction it will go direct to the police and they can open it.
 
I purchased a 1844 seated liberty silver dollar about 5 years ago.. I bought it at an Estate Auction. The seller was trying to get $485.00 . He was broken hearted when I brought out my magnet and showed him that it was made of steel not silver. It's actually a pretty good fake. Except that the reeding was added. And it was made of steel. The other thing is that the reverse eagle is way out of position! I gave him $20 and now keep it in my pocket as a reminder to be pretty careful at coin auctions!
