Confusion - 2014 PL Libertad 1 kilo silver coin mintage

I initially thought that there would be 1,000 of the 2014 PL (proof-like) Libertad 1 kilo silver coins minted but I now see that on eBay, there's a reputable coin dealer selling one and the description states that only 500 will be minted for 2014 (I am not in any way affiliated with that seller). That's half the mintage number that I believed would be minted in 2014 for the PL kilo Libertad. Can any member here verify what the mintage for 2014 will be 500 or 1,000?

Did the Mexico Mint cut the original proposed mintage of 1,000 in half for 2014 or did I just get wrong info?

Until the calendar year changes and mintages are declared, I wouldn't count on anything being 100% correct when it comes to total coin mintage - regardless of who your source is.

I remember a US dealer on here (MDAMDA?) say that the mint informed him it would only be 500.

He's from Germany and yes he said 500. We were told 1,000 from Lois and Don Bailey & Son (Official Distributor). Now I see that MDM (also official Distributor) is saying 400 on their website.

I've learned to never trust any mintage number for loose Libertad coins until after it's declared the following year.

Which resource do you check the following year to get the actual official mintage numbers for the Libs?

The Banco de Mxico lists the mintages

Though it looks like the page is down at the moment

Figures that it would be down to keep us in the dark about the mintages....they must have been reading this thread! :)

Anyone bought and received one of the sold out 2014 PL kilo Libertads? Post pictures please - I'm in the mood for drooling. :)

From my recollection, 400 was the minted number for 2014 PL kilo coins we were being told by the dealers.

Maybe the dealers got incorrect info? Maybe the Bancixo PDF is incorrect.

I forget off hand, but do the PL kilo's have serialized COA's? That might be one way to tell if they did.

Either way, it's a low mintage an an exceptional coin.

That's a heck of a good price! Wow....I'd jump on it pronto.

The Bank of Mexico mintage numbers for Libertad's is notoriously sketchy.

Even the Bank itself will cite different mintage numbers for the same coins.

Does anyone maybe know where I can get mintage numbers for all sets released so far, especially gold proofs.

Official gold proofs are very limited, but it seems that from certain year on 5 coin gold proof sets were released with mintage of 500 or more (less?) which makes end mintage numbers a little bit more "blurry".:/
