The heart shaped coin is lovely. I guess a reeded edge would be much more difficult for a complex shape like the 2013 Australia-shaped Kangaroo coin. I prefer a coin design which has a smooth edge but with all the text engraved into the edge leaving the complete faces of the coin for the actual relief or pictoral image. Maybe that's more of how some medals are designed.

There are plenty of colored coins that are getting much higher premiums than bullion coins of the same weight...that's a fact.

Lumping together as one and bashing all colored coins is like bashing all sports cars. It's kind of silly to do it.

The image on the coin is of a Chinese Lunar Dragon. If you visit Chinese new year festivities you will see this style. It is not meant to be a "fantasy fiction" style dragon

That's a ridiculous statement. You seem to consider a coin a flop if it doesn't appreciate in value by 1000% on eBay, whereas most people (perhaps outside of this place) would consider any coin that sells out on the primary market a success. I know the Mints would mark selling out a success. Collectors would also consider a coin a success if it sold out at the Mint. It's more the rule than the exception that coloured coins sell out.

They might sell out
But have a look how many are in dealers window displays for years ;)
 
^ Perhaps the dealers are asking ridiculous prices on those that are not moving. Not every coin, color or not, will move for a variety of reasons.

Yeah of course. "Asian" and "European" imagined dragons differently. I'm just saying that I prefer the later. But didn't know that Chinese is not based on "fantasy fiction". I knew some people who were living in China for more than few months and nobody saw dragon. :P

Dragons (in our capital city) have roots in different legends:
The dragons in our capital city are based on old legend. People believed that in spring of the river (which has similar name as that capital city) dragons were being born in the "caves".

Older legend is based on Greek Argonauts. They wanted to return back to Greece. But they choose the wrong way and they needed to disassemble their ship and brought it to Adriatic sea (don't ask how :) ). Near capital city Jason, their leader, killed green beast which was living in swamp - dragon.

Another theory is based on St. George. He is often being "portrayed" how he kills dragon. I think it's also shown on British Sovereigns. It's also very common here with (voluntary) fire departments.

Another story says it's based on some small dragon on coat of arms.

I guess there is not so much difference as with Chinese dragons. ;)
 
If only those 3D elements were of at least of 18 K gold and prolly plated only to make them look darker... and if that rose gold were solid rose gold...

Otherwise it's only plated...

Basically it's 3 ounces of silver - worth < 60 $ material value at current price.

Mintage is 1,000 pieces. Not high, could have potential. But it's already way too expensive!

I wonder how they really look like. I was searching for photos, but except a few low quality ones on auction sites, I could only find the same 3D digitally-generated images.
 
For you it's too high a premium, but the truth is EVERY silver coin on the market is above spot (has a premium). There are almost certainly a thousand million coins on the market that have a higher premium than the coins in this set.

It actually means nothing to argue that a coin has a (high) premium over spot as it is all relative.

Many silver coins far less that 3 ounces have a much, much, much higher premium. I would argue this fact if we were talking about coins I hate because my argument is not dependent on which coins I may like or not.
