Colorful coins

Hi,

I just came across this coin today:

It's bi-metal: titanium and silver, but 4 colors.

Honestly, it's not my type of coin, but I'm sure starting to like colorful coins.

This is quite interesting, but quite expensive for 150+ $ per coin:

Which colored coins are your favorites?

Which ones do you think are worth buying now for later re-sale?
 
The top coin looks good. Bottom coin sucks.

I would much rather buy a high premium colored coin that has high aesthetic appeal to me rather than a high premium bullion that is ugly and of poor design. To me, the latter is what some people are being duped into buying through hype. An example of the latter would be the Perth Lunar Dragon (S2) in 2012. Ugly design with a high premium. I know some people got burned with that ugly coin.

An example of a very appealing design for a colored coin IMO would be the Perth Mint 2007 Lunar Pig (S1) silver or gold coin.

If I'd want to buy silver simply for accumulating ounces, I'd stay away from coins completely and just go with the lowest spot bars I could find but it may be a looooong time before silver moves up high enough to make it worth selling any bars purchased (would I need to because of encroaching circumstances). At least with some coins, there's no need to wait a looooong time to sell for a meaningful return as premiums can be gained quickly with some coins.

If you think color has value, why not buy stamps or banknotes, or paintings etc...
 
I would choose 2nd. :) First one is actually quite interesting, but it looks more like world is "frozen".

2nd one has sort of vintage/space look. Much better imho. :)

As some of you know, I'm not big fan of colored coins. Burnt with all of them when sold them. Well, you can burn with every coin. Others just performed better. :P
Although I like some (D&D Red Spider), most often than not "pictures" just hide the lack of "imagination" - like you would glue some picture on coin. Even if "picture" is nice it's just better to have some high relief coin or something. :)
For me gilded are much better. :)

1st looks interesting, but it all depends how coin looks in hand. How colors looks like. They can be too vivid or too "plastic". Purple looks quite dark. :)
2st: I think it's the best colored dragon coin for that year. I guess ou can't get wrong with grey/black and red. :) However I think that dragon should be some fearsome beast. It just don't go much along with other in series I think. Well usually Chinese shows dragons differently than "Middle age" "West". :)

Haha. :) Despite "hippy" styling I kinda like it. Mostly because of it's "weirdness".

EDIT:
Not the best picture, maybe overyhped, but: "simple" design, red and black. Mhhmmmm. :)

And this is how true dragon should looks like. It's not so big, since our country doesn't posses so big bridges, at least in cities. :)

Well I guess it won't fit Lunar coin. :)
 
The West has a much more aesthetically appealing representation of the dragon than the East...just my opinion.

That dragon, in 3D, would look great on a coin!

I really don't understand the hype surrounding it OR the massive price it fetches at auctions nowadays.

It probably has to do with different culture / perspective of dragons. :)

Yeah, it's probably overpriced. Won't say the best colored coin I saw. Still nice though, and much much better than rest of D&D. :)

When I visited Ljubljana, I saw those dragons on the bridge :D

Great! :D Some say Ljubljana is only city having dragons on bridge. Dragon is also on city's coat of arms and some other cities as well. :)
