anyone into this? looking at the larger oz 5 and 10 oz.any advice on the pricing and mintage? worth collecting.

I have the 5oz noah ark. It's quite nice and a beauty to hold. Saw that the first year 5oz and 10oz appreciated quite abit.

Thanks AgAuNEWS for the Noah information link.

Great to see the mintage numbers and how limited the series is.

I have a 2012 5oz coin and didn't realize mintage was only 3550!

Can I assume they have a premium collectibility value in the 5oz size?

The Noahs Arks are OK and have modest collectibility value, but they don't have the popularity or following that other coins of the same sizes have (Libertads, Perth Lunars, Kooks, etc).

I have a couple of the 10oz from 2013 and 2014. It's a nice coin but I rarely see anyone else with an interest in them. In fact, I think you may be the first person I have seen since I joined the forum who has created a thread on these.

The 10oz coins come in mint capsules.

On possible future appreciation---maybe, but not very likely. Like SilverPete said, interest in these is rare and this is close to if not the first thread about them. By comparison, there are vast numbers of Panda, Libertad, Perth Lunar and Kook aficionados and those coins have all been around for many years. The likelihood of the Noahs Ark gaining much ground on the other already entrenched coin series is pretty slender.

You're right that anything can happen in the future but if I was going to sink money into any bullion coin series, I wouldn't sink it into Noahs Arks because of anticipated appreciation.

I bought it off a fellow stacker last year for $140 when spot was around $23.
I possibly paid a liitle too much, but it is an awesome looking coin in hand!

When spot was at $23, that was a bargain for a 5oz coin.

EDIT: Maybe if you bought 10+ you'd get a similar price from a dealer?

With current spot at AU $19.53, I found you can get the 5oz (2014) for $130.77 if you buy ten, or a single 5oz for $132.77 in Sydney: https://www.bullionlist.com.au/silver/noahs-ark/5oz-silver-noahs-ark-2014

The 2013 looks to be sold out.

Gem UNC inaugural 1oz is worth hundreds.. out of my 60+ i only have two that don't have a heavily worn (effect) sun (first coin in tube) both of these are less than gem unc.. ms66 or less to be honest.. so a gem would be extremely rare.

this is where the future money is imo (prediction).. (one of the few bullion items i would ever consider getting slabbed!)

At the moment as stated above the tiny mintages have no + effect on prices as demand isnt excess over supply so price never adusts to the upside in the form of premiums over spot.. market may of course grow over time as people look for substitutes to milky and overprice capsule and poofy proofy mints of the world.

it a good piece of art to me and too the premium to me is still within range of my burget for a 5 or 10 oz as compare to other 5 oz coin. i was think why not just go for it.

keeping at least one of these big coin since mintage is low.

i am also interested to see what the 2012 3 proof set (1, 1/2, 1/4) is worth?

So I got a 1/4 oz Noah's ark to try it out and see if I liked it. It was also cheap and I needed a few $ for my order. Anyway, I like this coin and I'm sure I'd like the larger ones but something bothers me about them. The 1/4 oz coin is 100 Drams. The 1/2 oz coin is double that at 200 Drams. So far so good. Double the silver double the price. Then we get to th 1 oz coin and it is 500 Drams. It has double the silver od the 1/2 oz but the face value is more than double the value of the 1/2. Then the 5 oz... it should be 2500 Drams right? Oh no, it is only 1000 Drams?! Then the 10 oz is 5000 Drams which makes sense with the 1 oz coin but none of the others. What is going on? I know the face value of bullion coins is nominal and doesn't really matter but this bugs me for some reason. Maybe this is why no one likes these coin?
