^ great 5kg bar! I'm jealous :/
Great 1kg bar above it too. Now we're both jealous :P

Edit: Where's BigFella gone? I hope I didn't scare him off with my big bar. Hey! Don't worry BigFella, 1kg is perfectly adequate. I mean, it's personality that counts, right? ;)

Edit 2: Ok, I'm getting an anxiety attack now. Maybe BigFella may be off getting a 15kg bar with monster swirls. Shit, what have I done? WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?

LMAO mate........

I'm quite comfortable with the size of my bar.....

I have put plenty of smiles on faces with my bar... Thats all that matters to me as long as I can put a smile on the dile and it is how long the smile lasts that tells you how good the swirls are....LOL

Now I know its not a KG but hey GYST...

Add then together and its 1KG.... Does that count??

Hi Danman, I have one very similar to the ones on the left. We are bar brothers :)

That bar looks ugly yet beautiful at the same time. I like it!
Exactly! There's beauty in its imperfection. I think it was another member, maybe 1for1, who pointed out the Japanese concept of wabi sabi:

Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete". It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence ( sanbin?), specifically impermanence ( muj?), the other two being suffering ( ku?) and emptiness or absence of self-nature ( k?).

Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, asperity (roughness or irregularity), simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes.

That is a very nice bar, lots and lots of character!

Took me a few weeks but take that ...its not quite as pretty as yours but hey its up there...

Well guys managed to pick up a few nice 1 kg Engelhards the other day and found a "NEW" type in the mix. Looks like Engelhard used the 5 kg stamp with "AUSTRALIA" rather than the normal "ENGELHARD 999+ SILVER" one. The bars are all numbered within a small range and a search on google and Ebay has not shown any similarly stamped 1 kg bars. So might be a short run using the different stamp.

Here are some pics including one showing two kilo bars with different stamps!

AND yes the bar in the picture is for sale along with "normal" Engelhard 1 kg bars. The remaining "AUSTRALIA" ones are remaining with me or already spoken for at the moment.

Cheers.
