Coins in an unopened envelope: 1969 Treasury.

coined

Hi all,
I have an unopened envelope dated 1969 from the San Fran Treasury.
It has coins in it.. I have no idea what sort, maybe proof, mint? From what I can find that is most likely.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what it might be worth? Should I open it?
I will try put a photo up over the weekend..
Coined.

It is more than likely a Mint Set that includes a half dollar, quarter, dime, nickel and penny. The half dollar is 40% silver, worth about $5 melt. Opening the envelope won't do any harm as the coins are likely sealed in another wrapper.

I kind of like the mystery! Maybe it's just all gold !
I'll take my time deciding, after all it has been like this since '69'..
Thanks for your imput .

I would leave it sealed until you get confirmation of what's in it, any chance you could post pics? If it's just a normal proof set then there's not much value, they seem to sell for about $10.

It won't be gold. Uncirculated mint sets have the coins in a plastic wrapper sealed in the envelope. Proof sets are in a hard plastic multi-coin holder with a cardboard sleeve around it. You can find hundreds of both on eBay.

search ebay for: 1969 unopened mint
you'll likely see similar photos.
what's in the envelope is likely your MS69 or so but unopened envelopes have that lottery premium for people looking for mythical ms70s - so an unopened envelope will fetch a premium.
