Coin vs Carton

Silver Stacker
Since starting to stack silver i have noticed when i look in my local paper at the price of beer ranging from $31.99 to $49.99 i compare it to spot price of silver.
I ask myself will i buy a carton this week or another ounce of silver??
I must admit, not that i am a big drinker but i have definately spent less on beer since stacking.

Anyone else with similar stories?

i'm not much of a drinker & never really bought alcohol freauantly, but recently I've started drinking red wine as it agrees with me better than beer/Bourbon

I blame a certain Melbourne dealer for that

Used to grab a pack of Strongbow Cider every fortnight... to go down with the pizza or other crap.

Now it's become, eat at home (cut out the pizza), drink water/tea (cut out the alcohol) and stack stack stack lol. I don't feel like I've lost anything though, makes me feel better (both physically and mentally) to be stacking instead of wasting money on crap food and stuff ;)

i spent about 10oz at pepper tree while i was in the hunter valley last weekend. i would have spent more but i had already spent the money on silver befor i left

My stacking will fund the dream of early retirement to a small drinking village with a fishing problem.

Stack now, drink later :)

I did a similar thing while I was numismaticking a few years back. I ended up saving enough for a good deposit on a house.

It sounds alright, but then I had to stop buying coins because of the mortgage :o

Does coke & hookers count ? The amount of money i have wasted/lost/blown could have payed for my early retirement & after giving up most things have saved enough to have far more fun than i did when i was wasting it ......well nearly as much fun :p: If it wasnt for my ex commonly known as "the handbrake" i would have spent it all.

ha ha i like your thinking

"Should I work an hours over-time?"

It isn't worth the extra $40 to me to stay an hour longer, but it sure as hell is worth an ounce of silver, so that is what I think about whenever I agree to it :D

You can do both. I buy a five liter box of red wine wine day and it costs less than $12 USD. Lasts me 4-5 weeks.

Who was it that told me about where to buy cheap bulk wine or something. Unsure.

Anyway, what is a good avg price/rate for one of them aging barrels (re: wine) in either NSW, QLD or VIC. I like the idea of getting one and just replacing the barrel once every two years whilst it ages away.
Sorry, I am new to wine mumbo jumbo and have not tasted a drop for many years. I just like red wine for use in cooking (i.e. flavour in food such as Pasta dishes).
.

matrix, don't you know it's a beer economy

I think it is great to hear someone else refer to a beer container as a carton instead of the 'eastern states' reference of the 'case'.

If only this had sound so everyone could hear you say beer as 'beeya' instead of 'beeeeh'

I'm always gettng picked up on that over here (heeya).

I always knew it as a "slab" but meh. Bad as those west australians and their "midi's", just go with the ole "pot" sizes please !
