Chinese medals - silver isn't the only composition!

actually very expensive considering it is just copper. The dragon is about US$320. For the one in the link, i want to know too. cannot find it in taobao.

How about this medal?

What material is it?

Umm, guys (& gals)?

Do your collection a favor & give this one a second look. Trust me.. ;)

2013 Shenyang Mint, 90mm copper, mintage of 1,000.

Relief just pops off the medal. Photos (despite them being great) don't do it justice..

One pair or one pieces 320 ?

Fantastic craftsmanship on that medal and nice size....it's just that I hate the dragon/boy side so much so that I couldn't possibly buy one even if half-priced.

Kind of cheesy!
Especially in this day and age where there are certain sensitivities due to "water under the bridge" issues.
I gave the medal a pass.

In all seriousness, upon first opening the package, I have not laughed that hard for that long in quite a while.

And for a hunk of metal to elicit that kind of response? Priceless.

Understood it's not for everybody.. But it's a fantastic medal, IMO. Both sides are very well done, design-wise & relief-wise..

Whatever floats our boats!

Large medals rule!

Not only can they fit that much more design on the diameter for our viewing pleasure, but they can also do more with the relief.

No way I can afford to drop big $$ on large Ag, but I'm happy with the brass & copper, if it's either that or nothing.

I've been trying to get my favorite Chinese medals dealer to land me a sweet 99-mm'er.. ;)

Seriously.. Could you just imagine a freakin' 90mm Kook medal (no queen) in mega-ultra-high relief??

Such a shame. Tsk tsk..
