Chinese medals - silver isn't the only composition!

Not sure which mint it's from. Since I've never seen one of the "big names" associated with it, I'm assuming it's by a private mint?

Does anybody know if NGC would slab this?

NGC is ultra profit oriented company. The policy in their webpage say NO to china private Mint BUT they did it as long as you got coa on it.

My guess is that more likely than not NGC will grade this. I intend to ask my contact at NGC this week.

Found this on another forum. Credit to Andrew Lee for posting. This is number three in the prehistoric series. Looks pretty amazing. Not sure when the actual will come out. Perhaps others know, I don’t know.

1. Mammoth
2. Lizard
3. Tiger

The Chinese have absolutely mastered the art of creating top quality high relief medals.

Hello Stark, I’m not sure yet. I’ve been asking around. I think it’s imminent. I’ll keep you posted.

You ask the wrong person mate.

the silver and the small brass will mint soon. Those are easily available for sell in market.

There are 2 varieties of this item. The item display in ebay is 29 mintage. This one as photo is 9 mintage.

Both weights around 530-560 gram instead of 680 gram which likely will stamp at rim. The seller has corrected the mistake while I am writing LOL.

Before correction. without frame 29 mintage

After correction price down with frame mintage 9 BUT he still put wrongly the mintage as 29. He might not even know the differences.

The items not complete in minting which not many has the silver physically on hand at all. LOL

The differences is at the rim which with frame 9 mintage is around 560 gram and without frame in ebay is 530 gram 29 mintage.

Generally each of the silver weight will be slight differences which the price is base on weight. This item done by Shanghai New Century Mint. The team of sponsor names' are in the documents which go with the product. It is a series which this is not first issue of the series.

The rare one with 9 mintage which is around 1K.

They also have non-precious metal varieties with lower price. You can go for the Paktong at 69 mintage which is much much more lower than the silver version if financially not allow you to buy the silver.

This is another better choice which from official mint Shanghai mint with almost same mintage as above. 4 & 7 coa no skip. This is uncommon for Shanghai mint to skip 4 & 7 in coa in those day now. They also rarely mint same mintage. This likely due to the soft market and they agree the sponsor of doing ultra low mintage with skip 4 & 7 in coa no which is seldom practise by them in last 10 years.

there are 2 varieties of silver which the photo below is the rare one 80mm and another is smaller one which cost only 100 per pieces if not wrong.

They have non-precious metals variety for 80 mm too.
