Chinese Funeral money?

Was in my regular silver shop today and I was offered a roll of Chinese Funeral Money..Probably about 50 notes in all. You buy them and you put them around you when you kick the bucket:) Then they start the fire!!!!

I didn't know why he asked me and I said to him, Dont you think that I am not looking so well today. He said with the way silver has been going a heart attack may be in store for all silver stackers.

They cost around $3 a bundle so I would probably need quite a few as I am still a little wet behind the ears and some say that I am too green to burn.

Anyone heard anything about these notes??

Yeah there are also coins I believe which are buried in other cases ? I am not sure as I have seen some in a shop but I couldn't tell the difference. They looked like these ones in the picture. I have no idea what they are if anyone could help ?

I think he be trying to tell you something. Best you head his worryin premanition.
That's what ya get for buyin coins off a witch docta.

I told ya it would come to no good. But would you listen

uh huh

Earlier examples of these notes were issued in denominations of $5 and $10 yuan and upwards, with such amounts being considered adequate until inflation took hold ...
There is usually an image of the bank of Hell on the back of the notes. A commonly sold hell bank note is the $10,000 note that is styled after the old United States Federal Reserve Note.

I'm not feeling cheered up here.
;)

Thats great! The Fed already have trillions of funeral money ready for the big day

Hell money usually turns up at our Coin Club Tender sales as a curio, you can usually shift a few but people don't want too many of them!

It's quite a common practice.

When one visits the dead, paper money is burnt as an offering for the grandparents/ancestors to spend on the other side of the "curtain". They can also be ingots of silver and gold made of paper and over the recent decades I've seen it expand to paper clothing, little paper car models and I've even seen paper mcdonalds burgers being burnt.

Yep common practice. Paper gold ingots/paper notes etc get burnt for the dead.

Never really paid attention to the denomination though lol, wouldn't be surprised if the notes were all millions $$$.

No small-change gets burned from the ones I have seen. Hyperinflation must be rampant in the afterlife.

In a few years' time they will be burning US$ instead and the ancestors will be sending them back.
