Tracking number showing Friday September 20th as delivery date, but typically there's at least a 1 day Customs Clearance delay, especially for this high value of a package.

They were sneaky releasing less than 500 at any given time :-(

Yep, every couple hours or so (not exactly sure how many hours!) they'll top up the quantity, and then see it gradually whittle down due to ppl ordering.
so I'm going to guess they still have a fair bit in stock :D

concentration is part of the manipulation, now it is harder to corner it, great for the average bu collector, a better chance to get a roll.

Agree with your principle argument, disagree in this case as retail investors are not the "concentrated position" we need to be worry about, this should be reserve for those companies that get a massive allocation and then drip feed ther supply to the market ensuring scarcity, i think anyone game enough to give Perth Mint all your personal details and survive their initiation tests deserves to get some cheap coins.. and given the ludicris shipping costs with random postal agents youd need to buy in bulk to get any benefit in terms of a cost saving.

It looks like Perth Mint themselves this time round are manipulation on the supply side.. even the deal allocations are being delivered slowly. i guess either way i would claim this as i dont much like all dealers releasing full inventory at the same time *(but at least then the mental $10 premiums would be no more).

Looks like we all got burnt with the pre-releases.. as well as waiting longer than expected to take delivery.. im ashamed at myself for buying rolls after promising myself i wouldnt fall for the p-trap again!

walk into Perth Mint and buy as many as you want, 34.xx ea at the moment. 20 coin limit has been lifted, I bought 30 yesterday (would've got more but didn't have cash or time to get it).

http://www.perthmintbullion.com/au/blog/blog/13-09-18/Order_Limits_Removed.aspx

This seriously pisses me off. Perth Mint said it was a permanent limit of 20.

Can someone give me the definition of "permanent" as it applies to Perth Mint?

I went out of my way and checked with them to ensure that the limit wouldn't be lifted at a later date and Perth Mint in writing confirmed it was a permanent limit. So as I always want a couple of boxes to keep up the collection I was forced to go elsewhere and pay a premium. What are my chances of taking any action against them? Not really that much money..but it is the principle! pricks.

barsenault,

wsd informed me today that he will be beginning the shipping tomorrow.

will be the first and last time I preorder, as they are now listed for a dollar cheaper and my money wouldn't have been tied up for well over a month.

Posted this on the last page, got a lot of hate messages so removed it. Credit cards had to be charged early or the authorization would fall off, but they're arriving tomorrow and will be shipping immediately, if I remember correctly, you were the first to order...

JLentz, the one you see for cheaper is for those who do a "cash transaction" (Paypal gift, E-Interac, Bank Wire, etc.) as I do not get charged the fee. Also, I charged Authorizations on September 6th if I remember correctly, so 2 weeks :).

Even if you didn't pre-order and you actually received them a month ago, they could still be selling for a dollar cheaper today or five dollars cheaper tomorrow. Welcome to the world of investing in precious metals.

Hope you didn't buy too many rolls...

Hi mate, I got 2 rolls from ABC (Ainslie) - that was the rip

Got 1 roll from Bullion Bourse at around $38 each which was a very very fair price at the time!

Also got a roll from IS Wright (Sydney) .. I had been telling them for ages to get them in and that they would be big.. they ended up getting one in for me charging me $1080 for the roll (from memory)... I used to go there once a week minimum.. I have been there 3 times since.. I hate getting ripped off so simply stopped buying there.. there coincided with finding better deals online and favouring 999 bullion over 1937 crowns and other "junk silver" which I wasn't exactly getting a good deal on.

I know the feeling. I frequented a few LCS in my area and after a few rounds to all the shops I found a couple of them were always much higher in price. I would still buy some stuff if I took a trip somewhere but I started feeling buyers remorse when I would overpay at one shop vs the next.

After a while I stopped all together and started buying online. Now I only go to 1 LCS unless the other ones get in something I want like Pandas or Kooks. For the average bullion I stick to just 1 shop although there are 8-10 different shops in my area...if those owners had just treated me fairly they would make a ton of money...I buy almost daily.
