Cheapest place to buy Lunar Horses

Depends if they are a reseller, or a distributor. They could have paid a distributor.

I'm not trying to be difficult....BUT......there appears to be a play on words.....I will be a distributor today, but a dealer tomorrow and the day after a reseller........really !!!!

Wouldn't the distributor be the Perth Mint ?

and all the dealers "resellers" ?

PS: Silverzman....sorry for going of topic

The Perth Mint has distributors - such as Gold Stackers, Bulllion Bourse, Bullion List, Bullion Money and others, authorised to deal directly with the mint as wholesale customers.

Then there are businesses with no direct relationship with the mint, which I referred to as resellers - they buy from a distributor and then resell.

All of them are dealers.

APMEX would have had *far far* more than 400. I would add another two zeroes to the end of that as a guess. They're being dribbled out.

Indeed you are right. And I'm sure every time they 'run out,' they'll continue to raise the price. They ran out for the 3rd time today...and their prices continue to climb. I'm assuming they'll stop selling out around the 40'ish mark. Especially when Provident and Gainesville coin come out. Heck, G.C. Has 1/2 oz horse going for 15.00!

barsenault, you are learning a fairly cheap lesson in life. Apmex is selling high, because the US competitors haven't listed their products yet and they know some people have to be the first to buy something. Last year the beginning premiums were as follows: Apmex $8, Gainesville $7 & Provident $6. Silver was $30 then and is $24 now. So, a 20% drop in silver and a $3+ increase in premiums. Not for long. Seen these games before and I am not playing. At an $11 premium for the 1oz silver horses, I would buy bulk bullion and be done with the lunar series.

Aside from dragon mania, an $11 premium would be far higher than any previous initial lunar premium that I have seen. When I bought the 2010 tigers, the premium was under $4 and I bought them in September 2010, right when the 2011 rabbits came out. Silver was slightly below $20 and now is $24. Have minting costs gone up over 100%, I don't think so. And the 2013 snakes didn't exactly leap off the shelves. I think the horse coins will do well in time, but nothing other than dragons has been a hot ticket at issuance. And from what I have seen in the trading section, higher premium bullion silver coins are not selling well.

Hope you are right about the premiums staying up and even rising, but I don't think so. Either my lunar inventory goes up in value or I get the horses cheaper than the current price. So, either way, I am good. :D

Hey DCC, I do have horse fever. :-). These are a long-long-term hold for me, so I took the gamble and perhaps paid a higher price than what Provident or Gainesville will offer...perhaps. We shall see. I don't believe those two will offer coins much below 35.00. Maybe I'm crazy, but if so, then I'll scoop up my last 25. My only regret is I recent scooped up some 2011 kooks (a roll) for 35.00, and wish I had patiently waited for these. I rolled the dice thinking the horses were going to be in the 40 range...I know, crazy, and decided on the kooks instead, because I felt the price was decent. Oh we'll, all my holdings are long term (20 or more years - if the good Lord sees fit to keep me here that long).

when does the 2oz gold lunar horse come out? i am eyeing that baby :)

Apmex has listed for sale, but the initial premium is too high. I bought 2oz dragons for myself and others last year and the premium was around $30USD per oz.

Sold out? :P

Dang they are going out as quick as they come in...I think it will slow down once Provident and G.C. Gets theirs, and/or APMEX starts selling them for anything over 40.00. Crazy.

nothing crazy ... people were awaiting them and they didn't come in surprise as stock horses did awhile back ... cash is ready ... silver is a good buy ... why not?

Two different posts on the price
Flippers at the ready

1oz Horses were to much on release 10oz horses were $6 cheaper an oz. 1oz lunars are a rip off, the mint and flippers make a killing.
Shop wisely and get more silver for your dollar.

Thats no problem since all other coins than the 1 oz is unlimited and everyone can buy how many they want. The 1 oz coin always have a higher premium and will soon be sold out at The Perth Mint.
