Britannia .999 new release?

I read somewhere, I think on this forum, that the Royal British Mint announced that in the future their Britannia coins will be made of .999 silver content. I can't seem to find that post now(yes I used the search function) and google didn't give me anything either. I'm not sure what I'm looking for is the problem. Does anyone have a link to where this was announced? Thank you.

WOW at last great news. I actually sent a letter to the mint early last year complaining about the fact they don't do the Britannia in .999 and sited just about all of the points they have issued in their press release! I was actually quite abrasive in my views on it!

Maybe they listened.

The Britannias are 95.8%.

I note in several dictonaries to be considered Britannia Silver it must consist of "at least" 958 parts silver.. so 999 would still qualify and Britannia will remain Britannia

But it still will be ONLY 1oz silver. so if they do .999, then the coin will be a little thinner or smaller
