BITCON... WHY its totally FLAWED

Thought this latest Dwolla / Mt Gox scandal would have hit the BTC price harder...seems to be holding $100 easily for now.

Interestingly some of the alternative cryptos are actually rising - I did very well off an overnight Mincoin trade.

Mincoin is pretty cool for those who like trading, they are scarce (only 10 million ever in total) - and you can really shake up the mcxNOW exchange with as little as 5 - 10 BTC.

They have a lotto for 10 free MNC every 10 minutes regardless of trade size too, which is quite fun.

This steady climb is lovely.

Up to $138 AUD sell price on BitInnovate now.

So tempting.......

Pretty amazing ha, wonder if this price is representative of the total value invested in the network?

This thread seems to have quietened down a bit now.

Incidentally, I've sold half my bitcoins, well, a bit over half actually and most of it has gone into paper silver. The potential for the silver price looks so much greater in the short term, ie 20-100 for silver seems more likely than btc 120 - 600 or so, that I'm going with what I see as the better gamble at this point.

Thank goodness for btc though because I never would have had this opportunity otherwise. Gold, silver and miners sure haven't been co-operating to increase my wealth.

Our Sell Bitcoins service is currently closed

We are working through some unexpected issues and hope to have it up again soon. We expect to have an update by the middle of June. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. -The Bit Innovate Team, 4 June 2013

There goes my way out, damnit.

MtGox seems pretty straight forward... I suppose other exchanges have means of withdrawal as well.

I'm using MtGox to withdraw.

Buying a cheap house in NZ. 15% rental return per annum.

So a 3K Bitcoin investment got me a fully paid 3 bedder in NZ, with steady 15% return for the foreseeable future. Not bad.

Not bad? That's awesome, I'm jealous. That's unlikely to be ever repeated again. Nice one.

Although I am amused you bought RE

Wait until reno finds out. ;)

I'm not against owning real estate. I just think Australian real estate is way over priced right now.

I also think an agricultural based economy like NZ will do better than Australia over the next few decades.

There's so many cash flow positive deals in NZ it's hard not to buy there. Plus there's no CGT.

Australia is and always has been an agricultural based economy, throw in mining and that's what we are.

So you are saying NZ is different?

Well you got me confused. The NZD was the second highest appreciating currency behind the Kroner over the past year, it's Reserve Bank is actively selling NZD in order to devalue it's currency and it's housing affordability rating is higher in the major metropolitan market (that's 2nd behind HK) than Australia and 3rd in the world behind HK and Oz in all markets.

Yep, NZ has agriculture, so does Oz.

Yep, NZ is actively devaluing it's currency. We're not.

NZ has lots of mining? It does? So what does Oz have?

And it's housing market is significantly more affordable?

Bullshit.

You just like sheep. ;)
