BITCON... WHY its totally FLAWED

I just wanted some money to a BTC-E account, not really keen on sending BTC than would mean taking a $7/BTC hair cut

Yep, I haven't figured a straight forward way of doing that :/
The price difference for BTC between MtGox and BTC-E is also due to the complexity of getting $ into BTC-E

They sent out 2 units as 'demos' to 'journalists'.

For all we know they could have made 2 in the time it's taken them so far and that's it...

I overheard a waiter telling another about buying bitcoin on ebay at 40 and it was now worth 250.

I didn't hear what the shoeshine boy was saying.

Most people online seem to think BFL wont deliver and its basically a scam.. we shall see..

Reminds me of Keiser Silver.. some got theres early.. most never get any silver.. i had to fight through CC company to get my payment refunded.. beware dodgy start-ups and ordering before the product has been rolled out

Indeed.
He was very enthusiastic and I thought he may have been trying to move some bitcoins in the kitchen. lol

I need to find time for this...
Can you remind me where to find the details about what documents are needed and who to send to etc?

It's there when you log-in under getting verified.

In order to apply for the "Trusted" account status, you need to get a notarized copy sealed with an apostille for the following documents:

A copy of your (valid) government issued photo ID (passport, permanent residence card or driver's license) and
A copy of either your monthly utility bill (power, phone, TV, gas, water, etc.) or a certificate of residency issued by your local government.

Your notarization must include the wording "Notarization for the purpose of verifying on MtGox.com"

Mt.Gox AML
Round Cross Shibuya 5F,
11-6 Shibuya 2-Chome, Shibuya-ku
Tokyo, Japan
150-0002

Notarization cost me $55 for both documents (best to call around costs vary a lot. One barrister wanted $370).
To get the documents apostilled cost $80 (they bound two documents together, which is cheaper than $60 each). Do this at a passport office.
Express international postage with $200 insurance cost about $45.

Awesome, cheers mate

Just swapped 2.5 BTC for 13,400 FRC

Freicoin has been my new 'thing' lately - before the only exchange trading it went down for 48-72hrs (in total it will be), the FRC/LTC buy price was around the 0.02 mark.

Got to see how this plays out now.

Bit of a gamble, oh well!

Wow that is quite the gamble!!!

You see FRC as having potential? I'm still trying to grasp the whole centrally controlled / charity concept.

I was getting 120 FRC a day on my puny HD6670 for a while hahaha, difficulty seems to have ramped up a lot lately so I quit though.

Before the exchange went down, it was trading at around 0.02 FRC/LTC (up to 0.03-0.04 on a few of my few hundred coin trades!), and on 1x 7970 I was getting about 140 of them per day (before the difficulty increase yesterday). Same card would only get me about 1.7 LTC with the difficulty on that at the moment.

So mining FRC and trading each day was getting me:
5.6 LTC @ 0.04
4.2 LTC @ 0.03
And 2.8 LTC @ 0.02

So instead of mining 1.7 LTC per 7970, I was getting effectively 2.8 LTC per 7970. It's small figures, but it's a big jump in %

Factor in the fact I've just effectively paid for all those 14,000 FRC @ 0.00829, if the exchange comes up and the rate is above 0.01 FRC/LTC, I am already ahead. 0.016 and I have doubled my money.

Essentially, I am really quite confident in this.

If it hits 0.04 FRC/LTC again, that's 560 Litecoins, for a trade of only 2.5 BTC

BTC trading on very low volume these days..looks like a lot of people are sitting and waiting to see if anything will happen!

Personally I think many of the speculators / traders have cleared out and we may see a slow and steady rise from here.

I am really regretting buying all those BTC for people between $55 - $90 now - wish I kept them!!!

Although the ones I've picked up between $100 - $120 this week are looking good today!
