I really do need to get my original $$ investment out of this so I don't have to worry as much that I won't get anything.

RM and 1for1 can comment better than me, but you basically need to first acquire bitcoins and you can then trade the bitcoins for lite coins on the BTC-E exchange.

Already selling 4.5 BtC to BitInnovate for AUD$498

First profit taken - will fund my new graphics card.

Much happier now to sit and ride the wave :)

Very much so.

Floating around the $3.50 mark, one 7970 can generate about 6-7 of them per day.

And the cost of power for one 7970 is only about $1.75 per day.

Those are good maths :D
 
Close to 1000% returns for me now in less than a year. Silver? About 25% over a 4 year period.
