bitcoin / litecoin mining

Hey How do you buy Litecoins with cash on a exchange? I cannot figure it out, Got a account with BTC-E but they don't accept paypal or visa, they have other payment methods i'm not familar with and do not want to use. I'm sure someone said you can do it with paypal??

any ideas?
 
By the way - and just throwing 5c in the pool, you *can * actually get reasonable results on NVIDE cards if you use CUDAminer. Very similar to cgminer. I get 210+ kHash/s on a GTX570. It means you can use that old game machine and slap in your collection of dodgy NVIDEA cards and accumulate steadily whilst awaiting the bits for a more serious miner...
 
The power to hash rate of the 570 lackluster compared to the 7950. If you have them then sure they would probably be worth while to mine at the moment.

You cannot pay by paypal unfortunately.
 
Okay back to mining LTC, profitability is 30% over BTC again.

finally figured out how to setup my 7950 properly and it's hashing away happily however, nothing I do to my 7870's is producing anything but mediocre results. so far this experiment has shown that the cost saving of a few dollars of buying MSI cards isn't worth it.
 
When a bull run is nearly over - you get all kinds of companies created that people buy into without really thinking...

I believe the emergence of bitcoin, litecoin etc is the proof that the Fiate Money bubble (about 70 year bull run) is getting ready to deflate/burst.

Bit coin represents the death throws of the last 70 year asset bubble in fiat cash equivolence
I would never trust them, i'd rather aud over world of warcraft dollars (wowd)

We agree on that part. New solution was required. Bitcoin filled the gap in the market.
 
Out of curiosity, has anyone read anything about PS3's for mining? I remember they were meant to be great for folding@home because of their processor. I'm guessing that technology has superseded it but figured I'd ask the question. I did a search but everything is blocked at work!

You'll see why I've been mining Feathercoins once you do.

I believe you can configure with custom firmware & get around 20 Mhash/s so that will equate to approx. 0.05 Litecoins per day approx.
