Bit of a let down

So not long ago I bought my first gold 1/4 oz AGE and was a bit let down how boring and dull the coin is.
I guess I figured the gold coin would be bright and shiny but it does not look much better than a copper coin.
So for my next gold purchase what do you think I should buy that is a bit more shiny and yellow.

Can't go wrong with anything that is 24K or 99.9% pure.

Or you could always get a gold proof coin with mirror-like finish.

Correct, dont get me wrong I love gold but for my first gold coin I thought it would a bit brighter finish.
My wedding band is more shiny-LOL

ounces, if you're after shiny gold in the US, it shouldn't be difficult to source a Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. Those are 99.99%, and boy are they shiny!

If you are really getting down about your coin then go and get 18 ozt of silver and sit them beside your 1/4 ozt gold.
Then you will be able to see just how much value you have in that wee coin:)

Congrats on your 1st goldie!

Yeah, aesthetics of 24K > 22K, by a long shot..

As long as you're going to keep it in a capsule or slab, heh.

22K does have the durability thing going for it, anyway.

If you're looking for something sexy that sports some brilliance & "pop," go with 24K that has at least 2 different contrasting finishes & textures.

Fractionals that immediately pop into mind..

- Perth Mint Lunars & Kangaroos
- Canadian Maples
- Chinese Pandas

Stuff of that nature.

Obviously also proofs, if you're willing to fork out some extra cash.

And if you go with 1-oz, you'll have that much more selection.

Do some window-shopping on Apmex..

Then armed with your list, head over to YouTube & watch some full-screen HD-quality videos (from retail customers) of the potential purchases -- preferably of coins that are either naked, or in brand-new capsules.

You'll get a much better idea of exactly what you're looking for in your next gold coins..

And yes, there will be more than one.

I personally really like the colour and texture of the American Gold Buffalo coin

They need to bring back fractionals!

It's hard for some of us to drop $1,200 USD on a 1-oz'er.. :(

Actually, for the 1 oz Buffalo, currently you'd have to drop $1440 direct into the U.S. Mint's piggy bank.

Or, you could drop $10,000 on this flawless 2015 proof-like 1 oz American Liberty gold coin.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-W-100-...LY-RELEASES-/171888895387?hash=item280560659b

So you all know I want some gold with a little more shine,so do you think the older GML are a bit more shiny than the 2015 with the radial lines?

Perhaps have a look at "Perth's sellection of gold coins.

If you like a bullion gold coins with a bit of shine, the Gold Kangaroos are pretty good. :D
