Anyone thought of stacking it? i see there is a company in Brisbane producing and selling 1KG Bismuth bullion bars.

They look pretty cool http://www.bismuthbullion.com/ there selling for around $134 and i think stop price is only around $20 or so.

Anyway any thoughts on this metal? and potential future price increases?

Might be cool to put a couple of KG's away just for a laugh.

Cheers Jimmy

Might be worth having one or two bars. But not sure how easy it would be to liquidate? Can't imagine a BismuthStackers forum starting any time soon.

x2

I remember an interesting thread by an 'unbiased' poster whose ebay account history brought him unstuck :D

I agree with House..
I have been looking at the other metals as well...
God I wish if I can get the Actinades series :) ...just kidding!!...

But yes got a heap of Gallium as well it's such a weird metal though...

Bismuth is cool due to its diamagnetic config and also the crystals it forms. very artistic type of metal.

Spot price for Bismuth is $19 a kilo, why are they for sale @ $140 give or take?

One of the funniest threads ever :D

Remember the guy's profit margin on these bars was $50/kg - a 60% markup over his declared costs. It's many multiples of the spot price.

That's not bullion, it's a curio. Laughable that at those margins he's marketing it as a hedge against inflation.

Hahaha, great thread!

When will we start to see goldstackers and the like selling bismuth bars?

Crazy to think on his eBay account, he has many sales of the 1kg bars...

Paying 150 for a bismuth 1kg bar is akin to paying 5k+ for a silver bar of the same weight lol.

Haha :)

For those that don't know what the Actinades are:

Highly collectable.

I doubt Bismuth's radiation is of any real concern:

Bismuth has long been considered as the highest-atomic-mass element that is stable. However, it was recently discovered to be slightly radioactive: its only primordial isotope bismuth-209 alpha decays with a half life more than a billion times the estimated age of the universe.

But it does have some very interesting properties.

Hmmm, I didn't know Bismuth even had any radiation.

We were talking about the Actinides which are completely different and don't include Bismuth.
