Big Big day for Greece tmrw.... What will they do?

18. June 2012 19:38:52

GERMAN PRESS: "Who needs Europe?" asks Der Spiegel in this
morning's online edition. Many Greeks act like a group of yobs who spent
the night partying in a club who are later outraged for having to pay
the bill, the paper says. The country will remain a political problem
predicts Der Spiegel. Furthermore, the paper deems Antonis Samaras as
unreliable and the new Athenian government should only get more money
under the condition that it implements its austerity programme.

It's a tradition

But seriously, ... who's going to pay the bills...?

We'll see how they manage to assemble a coalition. But I cannot imagine how the new government wants to cope with the situation. One of the root causes for the problems in Greece is probably that they are trapped in a currency that does not reflect their economic strength - and the option of leaving the Euro is still being discussed. In any case, a strict austerity plan will likely lead to a further recession, and possibly cause riots. Maybe a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Plan for the PIIGS states could help, but ... not with Merkel.

BTW: I expected some big movements as a reaction to the election, in stocks and PMs. But what happened? Nothing. It's nearly dissappointingly boring... :|

Why are the Germans pi55ing everyone off?
All they are doing is asking the Greeks to abide by their commitments (to the bailout).
They signed the contract, now they have to fulfil.
All this German bashing is just a distraction.
Greece has to pay up and shut up! (although having just voted in the same clowns that got them into this mess, the former request is unlikely)

Because we (everyone else in the world I've spoken to) want to see the Euro dissolved and they don't. And furthermore, they think there is a solution to this mess. There's not. Austerity my arse.

@silber ha ha ha, tradition. :)

Ahhh, good old Der Reich Spiegel!

Racial stereotyping at its best. Those lazy southerners.

But i would like to know why they think Samaras is unreliable???

He was the one pushing for austerity.

Euro match between Greece and Germany should be interesting this week. Violence anyone? Golden Dawn vs the NDP?
