can anyone please help with this as its driving me nuts
what is the simplest product to buy in silver and gold which will give you the greatest return for smallest outlay/
what really throws me is the aray of products and variations,
im picking random figures here that arent factual just for the illustration, but web sites will normally be along the lines of
1oz gold panda 811.50
10z maple 808.50
1oz krugerand 814.20
1oz bar 805.20
now the figures are hypeathetical but the coin/bar values are all over the shop , do you pick the cheapest product for your money because a gold price is whatever it is regardless of what fancy design is on the coin or the prettyness of the bar
i suppose a classic one is the gold bars, 4 or so brands all with different prices acording to packing, design, very pretty are poured into mould in not such a pretty way but isnt gold gold and silver silver when you sell it back aghhhhhhhhh

Craig, I love the Pamp Suisse 1 ounce gold horse. I love it much better than any u.s. or foreign coin. The Pamp Suisse to me, Is the most beautiful and it's .9999.. bar stamped as well as the assay card with purity and weight.

yes very nice, i think im grasping this stacking now , some would argue that quantity = wealth ie the more you have in your stack , silver
where gold stackers cant really stack because of the high cost but can have beautiful products but less of em to = the same money spend

Those Zeus coins are very nice, congrates on getting them. With a mintage of only 1500, they will only increase in value and quite a bit I would imagine. You just don't see these coins in the UK, one day I hope to able to. :D

Klacey, Thanks. I live here in the U.S. and i purchased them straight from Perth. You just never know how these coins will do even with small mintage. I bought them like the gold horse bars cause i love them.

I think as long as you like them that's the main thing. Taste plays a big part in the value of silver and gold. I have sold more bars and coins on the looks alone and the fact they were the cheapest to source was icing on the cake for me. lol

But yeah you have to enjoy your investment too.

My personal choice is bullion coins that change design every year. Makes for a more interesting collection and possible numismatic appreciation. Among them, my first choice is the China Panda. After this would be the Australia Lunar and gold Kangaroo.

i couldn't really care what it is. i buy low premium. buy close to spot, sell a little over spot and rely on the spot going up for your profit. for me having to recoup a high premium when it comes time to sell is just more risk.
no way i'm going to pay $15 over spot for an oz of silver. it's the same stuff that's simply a different shape. actually i've been looking at oz bars and i haven't bought any yet just because i get more silver for my money with 1kg bars.

i don't see the point in buying high premium and selling with high premium. i'd rather put what i would have spent on high premiums into more oz's then make more than the high premium when the spot goes up.
